Oriental Bay is simply a great place to walk, especially in the summer, to enjoy the eclectic homes, nice city beaches, and to people-watch. Kids are in the playgrounds, in the water. People are riding in covered bicycle-like things. Teens are showing off their latest skateboard tricks. It's just a relaxing, fun place to while away some time.

One of the older parts of Wellington, very charming, make the time to have a walk through the area, as with all of Wellington some gat photos can be taken

Walking around here in summer is a delight, in winter it's best to pack a wind break as it does live up to it's name windy wellington! But truly a beautiful walk, plenty of places to stop for a ice cream or just to enjoy the view! Very photographic. Well worth a look. :)

The little houses that fringe the road on this coast line seem in imminent danger of flooding with each angry wave rushing to the front doors. The quaint little houses seem fragile compared to the rough and rocky coastline. Well worth the drive. Local buses can be taken to see this area at very little cost or take a tour... More

Loved the wide walk right around the front, the fascinating blend of architecture old with new, the interesting information kiosk s e.g. Nancy Wake, The courteous drivers at crossings . Being able to get close to the marina and how clean everything was.

What a fantastic place on a calm Wellington day. Superb views of the City and Harbour nice vista of apartments and houses and a couple of quality restaurants. A wide pavement gives a chance for people to stroll and enjoy the views and also room to skate or bike around the bay.

Excellent place to waste some time. Nice walk around the bay and some really interesting places to eat. Good for a swim as well and safe places for kids to play on the beaches.

Oriental bay is wirth of having a look. You can also have great coffee or food. There is a real cosmopolitan feeling and great beach. Wellingtonisns are running there and tourists taking selfies. Nice Sunday afternoon walk or any time walk if Sunday is not on option for you.

A great place to stroll or cycle and people watch. A good place to have a paddle or swim on a warm day with the back drop of the city behind you. Lovely later in the evening with less people around and the cafes are great.

I love walking around Oriental Bay and also another great thing to do is hire a cart especially with kids who might tire of walking. There is always so much happening around Oriental Bay. Plenty of walker, joggers, visitors and local enjoying the lovely sea air.
