It was lovely especially on a sunny winter day when you haven't been outdoors for a while. Playgrounds for kids, a couple of eating places. Heaps of dogs, runners walkers, skaters, bikers, everyone was out and about that day. Walking distance from the city. We should have hired one of those two or four people tourist bikes. Heaps of people... More

One of my favorite seaside walk with beautiful view of shiny green sea dotted with sails and distant hills. Time just pass by walking along the path or just sitting there by sea shore, taking all in. Probably one of the best and leisurely walk, you must fit into itinerary to enjoy it fullest. My favorite walk will be to... More

A must on anyones visit to Wellington. Can't beat Oriental Bay on a good day with full sunshine and blue skies. Golden sand beach shipped in from Golden Bay every year keeps the sunbathers happy. Good facilites such as showers and toilets within walking distance as well as coffee and ice cream stands.

This is the part of Wellington that my mind harks back to when I think of visiting the city again. You can be lost in your own wee world as you meander along soaking in the sights. Is especially lovely when the sun shines and the sea is dazzling but then very exhilarating when the wind blows and your wrapped... More

This is a stroll from the centre of the city, but seems to take you a long way from it. Take a walk along here for some good restaurants and cafes, but also for the wonderful views and sea air.

We were fortunate enough to be there on a brilliant day so walked the whole way from the city around the bay. It was absolutely stunning.

Oriental Bay is simply a great place to walk, especially in the summer, to enjoy the eclectic homes, nice city beaches, and to people-watch. Kids are in the playgrounds, in the water. People are riding in covered bicycle-like things. Teens are showing off their latest skateboard tricks. It's just a relaxing, fun place to while away some time.

One of the older parts of Wellington, very charming, make the time to have a walk through the area, as with all of Wellington some gat photos can be taken
