This is a favourite place in Wellington. I like to just sit and reflect ( not easy to do with tour buses admittedly) but the serenity is very soothing and calming. It is full of history and you can buy souvenirs which helps with the upkeep. Worth a look.

All wooden Church with beautiful exposed beams. Avoid the paid guided tour, completely unecessary, the architecture speaks for itself.

We had visited this church but it was closed due to a private function. We then returned to see the inside and absolutely loved it. The church is all wooden and reminds me of a Scandinavian church. The windows are also very beautiful. There is a little shop within the church where I bought some lovely Christmas decorations. Well worth... More

The interior ceiling and architecture of this wooden church is remarkable. The ceiling structure seems to be an inverted ships hull. Wonderful timbers and stained glass windows.

This delightful little old wooden church has the most authentic smell of antiquity, and the architectural details are a visual feast!! A lovely old gentleman gave us a guided tour, and to add value there was a very well stocked gift shop.

This is a real gem of a cathedral. We have never seen anything like it before. The colour and detail in all the wood carvings are superb and the light from the stained glass windows, give real feeling of serenity to this religious building. it is not the scale, but the sense of history which made this place worth the... Just a quick impromptu stop an enjoy the aspects of the building & the history about it. Next time in Wellington I'll dedicate more time to view in full.

Our family and friends have been coming here for years for happy times (weddings) and sad times (funerals). Old St Paul's is always in top shape and you can feel very comfortable here.

For people into history of Wellington this is a must see. This church was built when Wellington was in its infancy and to think 100 years later people wanted to demolish it.
