Take the cable car to the top and walk down through the gardens. There are wonderful bush walks throughout and everything is well labeled. We were there in winter when there wasn't much blooming, but it was a beautiful garden then as well. More

Take the cable car to the top, the museum is well worth some time and then stroll along the well marked route back down to the town. The plants are well labeled and informative, the formal gardens offer some great photo opportunities and don't miss the Begonia House and Rose Garden More

Great for a stroll either up or down to Mount Victoria. Plenty to see with such a great variety of flowers, shrubs, cactii etc. Very enjoyable. More

The Wellington Botanic Garden is always a pleasurable experience. Whether we go in through the main gate, or take the cable car, we easily spend a couple of hours with the kids, admiring the flowers, playing on the large playground. Every so often we go to the planetarium(which of course does have a fee), and we often enjoy the cafes.... More

Just great to be out there in the middle of a city and see all the beautiful trees and listen to the tuis, kekerus and parrots. Very relaxing. More

Lovely piece of peace and quite lots of native birds and flowers and some lovely views of the city allow plenty of time to visit as it is quite hilly in places ! More

I loved this place, manicured rose gardens woven with other plants in this beautiful setting! There's also a lovely coffee shop there next to the begonia greenhouse. More

Beautiful paths through gorgeous flowers & trees. Was fun taking the cable car up, and just wish we could have spent more time here. Had some beautiful views of Wellington also. More
