For nature lovers

It's more of a Botanical Park and on a normal working day you'll find peace and quiet under enormous ferns and Pines.

Lovely gardens in Wellington with many themed areas, and wonderful children's play area. We walked back through after taking the Cable Car. The Bolton Cemetery & Seddon Memorial is at the bottom of the gardens and of historical significance. At night time we wanted to go on a night walk and hunt for glow worms, however, the paths are not... More

Great place to relax with the family. Beautiful scenery. Very calming. Good idea would be to take the cable car up and walk down to the gardens. Wear comfortable shoes

A wonderful green escape near the centre of the city. Fantastic views to Mt Victoria and over the harbour. Beautifully maintained grounds with walks of differing distances, (even back to the city in lieu of the cable car). The Gardens at the end of the cable car ride are a credit to those responsible for their restoration and maintenance.

This is a lovely park for a stroll and for getting a good perspective of the whole of the city and once that is done dropping... More

to meander anytime of the year as gardens and trees etc change with the seasons. Great to catch the cable car either up or down or both and stroll through the gardens while enjoying some of the lovely views that Wellington has to offer. Well worth the visit.

As with other municipal parks and facilities in Wellington, the Botanic Garden is well planned, well maintained and well used. This time of year it's not as colorful as in the spring and summer, but it beautiful none-the-less. The cafe is a great place to stop for lunch or coffee, and the walks are so extensive you could spend an... More

We took the cable car up and then strolled down. There is an excellent stop hallway down with a ton of info, Take your time - we took about 2hrs, and you end up near the Parliament Buildings.
