As all Zoo's was interesting and fun to go, but the animals and other exhibits were nothing I hadn't seen before. The view of wellington over the animals was a nice treat.

We have been twice in the Wellington Zoo. As usual it's very good specially with having an 8.5 yrs old child. But let down by very poor service at the Cafe. Knowing it is the first week of school holiday, they should have more staff on.

What a wonderful space for these animals to thrive! The easy walking paths, although some are steep, is perfect for all ages and easy to wheel a buggy around. The viewing areas for the young people so they can also see without being lifted are terrific! This zoo has not only it's inhabitants in mind, but families and playing areas... More

I love the thought that has gone into making this zoo family-friendly - for the visitors as well as the residents! I saw many relaxed and smiling kids enjoying not only the animals on display but also the displays on the animals - the information and fun-designed enclosures. Unlike many a zoo I have visited, in this one the animals... More

This Zoo has had a revamp since I was last there, many years ago. So beautiful and clean and tidy. Good pricing and staff very helpful. Fantastic for people of all ages.

A friend and I spent a very pleasant morning wondering around the zoo. The animals seem to be looked after and we went and listened to the various talks, A real highlight for me was feeding the giraffes!

At the end of August, I took three Auckland visitors to see the zoo. We all had such a lovely time. They know Auckland Zoo very well, but were charmed by what they experienced at Wellington Zoo. Amazingly, all the animals seemed to be on their best behaviour and were out on display, as if on cue, whenever we approached... More

I visited here not long after a visit to Taronga Zoo and boy does this little zoo punch well above it's weight! Easy to get to using the local buses (very helpful drivers), it's on the outskirts of the city and is excellent. The planting and gardens are well kept, the animal enclosures are very sympathetic to the animal's requirements.... More

Ok it is smaller than Hamilton and Auckland zoo but its still a nice zoo. I spent about 5 hours wondering around. The site was clean, the food was ok and the staff were pleasant. The sun bear was the highlight of the zoo....but the other animals were good to see. I think the only thing I did not see... More

A really great wee zoo with super friendly staff and happy looking animals. It's awesome to be able to see what goes on in The Nest too!
