We enjoyed seeing the various animals and birds, but the wet weather dampened our spirits and those of somne of the animals too I suspect.

If you have been to some of the big zoos around the world this place may be a bit of a let down but it is still a nice place to spend a few hours.

Always a great place to visit, lots of animals to see and things to do, also some hands on experience if you book ahead.

- Short distances for watching each kind of animal. - Bad animal teaching talks punctuality. - Must carry a red light for watching the kiwis, they are lovelly but in their habitat the light is too low and hard to see them (fun to search for them for a bit). - Assisted to the tiger dinner but the space was... Well kept and worth a visit. The best experience was the glassed-in animal surgery where the vets have headsets and talk you through their treatment of animals while they're on the table. They take in injured wildlife and fix them in front of you. Amazing.

My partner loves going to the zoo, it is always a must for every city we visit! This is great. My favorite part is the Australia area were you walk through and there are Kangaroos out just chilling on the grass next to you. Really adds a wow factor!

Always enjoyable to wander around to look at the wildlife. Always a favourite with kids, especially the meerkats. Spot to picnic/buy food.

We had a lot a lot of fun at this zoo. Loved interacting with the spider monkeys! So cute! Animals seemed very well looked after. Would also be a great zoo for people who haven't seen Australian wildlife, they have an area where you can walk amongst some Aussie wildlife. Got to feed the giraffes and for some great photos... We almost didn't get to see a kiwi but on our second last day in nz decided must make a trip to the zoo. We weren't disappointed but to be perfectly honest besides the kiwi there wasn't much else we were interested in.
