Visited Zealandia in November 2014 during the day. Weather was perfect with some chill wind during the visit. We have a nice walk around the Sanctuary with several pit stop along the way. There's a lot of interesting birds & rare birds only to be found in New Zealand. Interesting to know about the fences set up around Zealandia to... More

We have been to Wellington before but never managed to get to Zealandia. We caught the free bus at the top of the cable car and it's a short trip to Zealandia. The $17.50 is so cheap and the staff really friendly. There is an exhibition over two floors and after an hour we still hadn't made it to the... More

I used my car to go out to this sanctuary but a free bus will take you out from the Information centre. The day I went the weather was a bit inclement but as most of the walking paths are under a bush canopy it was not too unpleasant and probably kept some of the crowds away. As it was... More

Zealandia in not only an amazing place to walk around, seeing some of New Zealand's most amazing native birds & creatures - but it also does amazing things for the Wellington regions bird life! Entry fee's are that extortionate when you think that money goes into the conservation activities the sanctuary provides!

What a great place so close to the city. Enjoyed the different walks and being able to see the takahe, kaka and tuatara up so close. Really enjoyed the discovery feeding stations where we sat and just watched the hihi and bellbirds, having them so closed was just amazing. To have the bellbird singing just half a metre from us... By Night : The night time guided tour is well worth the money. Got to see 3 amazing sightings of the little spotted Kiwi with one friendly one coming to say hi to us on the bridge! Also got to see the Kakas feeding, the very rare Takahe and NZs non lizard reptile the Tuatara! Not worth taking your camera... More

Spent a wonderful morning at Zealandia. Took the 11 o'clock tour, the guide was most informative. We learned alot about the fauna and flora of New Zealand.

We did a night tour and I would recommend this as something not to be missed. the staff were knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help, calling us a taxi at the end of the tour and organising a share of taxi to save costs. We saw kiwi and much else. It was all very well organised. Wish we... More

We enjoyed the walk through the sanctuary and admired the concept behind the attraction. Did not see a lot of wildlife other than birds but still a recommended attraction.
