I enjoyed the half day I spent at Zealandia. I saw so much more in the guided tour than I would have on my own. The guide had free time at the end of the hour and asked if anyone was interested in seeing more, so I got extra info and bird watching. If you have enough time in Wellington,... More

The cafe is good and above all just learning about what N.Z. should be about ferns, birds, lizards. A must for all New Zealanders to be aware of our environment and learn of the species of birds that I never new existed as a kid, for they were not there, kaka ,kakariki, toutouwai, tieke, takahe. hihi, piwakawaka etc. For overseas visitors to see how we... I have enjoyed visiting Zealandia with visitors to Wellington in the past but have decided to take it of my list of things to do in protest against the anti-cat crusade of Gareth Morgan.

A lovely place to visit, still a little pricey but well worth it. The Tuatara around the path are a special treat - being able to get so close to these rate creatures. I personally loved the Kaka flying over one of many great birds varieties. The information around is good especially in the resource centre. The food as it... More

This is a lovely oasis of calm 10 minutes from the central city and well worth a visit. The native bush is lovely and you can see and hear quite a few of our native endangered birds. Being able to see Tuataras is pretty special too. It also has a cafe which has great food and a nice atmosphere. The... More

As an immediate neighbor of Zealandia, I have to congratulate those responsible for its inception. As a 20 year resident on the boundary, initially birdlife was non existent, but over the years, it has returned, and is a most welcome sight and sound. Many of the native birds now well established, were on the verge of dying out. Thanks to... More

I love this place, have been multiple times. Its very scenic, great opportunity to see native flora and fauna and very close to Wellington city. I always take my children during the holidays and friends when they come to town. Yes, its more low key tha a zoo, but a lot more animal friendly too! I think its really unique... More

I had no desire to visit Zealandia but we had overseas visitors so we went. Well it was really interesting and our visitors were absolutely amazed by it. Such a surprise.

Awesome place! Well worth the money as you know its going to a good cause. You will see all sorts of native New Zealand birds probably not a kiwi unless you go at night. Strange thing about this place is that the birds are quite friendly so you are almost guaranteed a great close up view of them. Very friendly... More
