The i-site centres are a feature of the larger cities in NZ, where you can access brochures etc on most areas of NZ, book tours etc. Very helpful staff in the ones we visited.

Considering it is in a city I don't understand why they don't have luggage storage for backpackers. Rotorua and Waitomo iSite are way way better. Not to mention that they know we are waiting for more than 30mins outside, they didn't bother to open at exact time of 8:30am or they should have been nicer to ask what we want... More

We're so fortunate to be in a central city location to best service our visitors, and as I hoped you would have experienced from our advice, we are also fortunate to have a Backpackers located directly across the road approximately a one minute walk, that offers luggage storage at a very reasonable price. Without exception we open daily on time... More

Each time I travel to a new place in NZ, I always make it a point to visit the local i-Site. The Wellington i-Site office is located in the centre of the city with a souvenir shop inside. Best place to go for information on local travel!

In a slightly out of the way site and not clearly signposted the response we got when we asked where we could change money was nowhere the banks are all shut it's Sunday. Helpful?

I'm sorry you found our central city location difficult to find. Unfortunately it is the case that neither the banks nor the foreign exchange outlets are open on a Sunday, however this is beyond our control and often there is no happy way to deliver these simple truths. More

This is the place to go for for information of all types. We took a great walking tour from the iSite. When we returned on another day the staff helped us find a post office ( to exchange currency) and they helped with finding a chocolate cafe. There are many free materials on all of New Zealand including maps and... More

This particular site was at the civic center, close to museums, the city hall and buildings and near the wharf. It had oodles of brochures and people to help make reservations. There was also a small souvenir shop, Right outside was a stop for the Zealandia Trolley and other pick up points (Hop on Hop off bus).
