Having recently visited the St James Theatre for a performance , we had an absolutely amazing evening. It is perfectly located on Courtenay Place, across the road from the Reading Cinema. The St James is the perfect venue for a performance. The evening was Topp class and we had a great time.

I have been to a number of musical shows at this theatre and have never been disappointed by the seat I booked ( usually on line ) or the clarity of the production. Staff members are most helpful and there are good facilities available. A real bonus for me, particularly as a pensioner, is that I can get a bus... More

We live visiting this old theatre. The sound is great and the seats get good views. We preferrer to pat extra for the best seats and are never disappointed. Bus stop directly opposite. Right in the centre of Wellingtons night life!

Went a few months ago to enjoy the Opera La Cenerentola, which is one of my favourites. The Theatre isa very nice old lady, done up but still missing a little bit of the magic other old theatres have got. Acoustics in the higher areas was rather poor :(

Amazing decor, seating is a bit dated and rows are close together but the view was amazing from the Grand Circle. Ushers were very helpful

Fantastic show in a fabulous old theatre. The theatre is a jewel in the city's cultural crown. Wellingtonian's are so lucky to have such an amazing venue.

A friend and I witnessed a mesmerizing Ballet show performed by the NZ Royal Ballet Group. We purchased tickets at $35, which was the cheapest available and sat one floor above the stage at the very back far end. Although the seating was quite distant from the stage, we were able to view the stage and the actors performance quite... More

Our conference black tie dinner was held at the st james on the stage. Approximately 150 of us sitting around 10 to a table. Being seated in this ionic theatre was awe inspiring thinking about the history and the many, many historical stories if the walls and seats could speak. The dinner was a set menu and an army of... Having been at the St James in 2014 as NZ Tour roadie & driver for The Beatle Boys, It was a pleasure to be back at the St James in 2015. I,ve seen many concerts over the years in the venue & loved its atmosphere. This year they accomodated my every request, opening up early on performance day to drop... More
