I have not experienced this myself-being of the older generation- but my children & grandchildren rave about this place after I purchased tickets for them.In their words it is "thrilling and a very exciting experience".

Took the grandchild Kayaking down the Wairoa River and it was great fun. You don’t even get your feet wet. The staff are amazing, they sit you in your kayak and gently push you off. The scenery is truly special and you can just cruse along at your own speed. There are lots of other things to do at Waimarino.... More

We went here with a group of 28 kids. They all had a great time and really enjoyed the opportunity to challenge themselves with some of the activities. At the end of the day we would have loved to have spent more time in the park but aside from that it was a great day all round. Thanks.

Was a fantastic day!!! We had organised the tour through our cruise ship and everything was perfect. We were picked up from our ship and provided a guided bus tour as we headed inland to the lake. Our guide was amazing (friendly and knowledgeable) and we loved every moment of the day, the kayaking, the glow worms and the hot... More

I was with a group of neighbors from Texas, mostly 60-somethings, who hadn't kayaked or canoed in scores of years. The staff looked at us and made us into a separate group upon whom they lavished care. The staff was simply excellent in every respect. And, we had a really great time kayaking Lake Rotoiti (in high winds). Yes, it... More

Booked a last minute trip with some friends and ended up having such an unexpectedly brilliant afternoon! Our guide Dan was both hilarious and really professional, and explained everything really well. The hot pools overlooking the lake are so special, and even though the glow worm cave is small it's mesmerising. Would love to do this trip again and again!... More

I didn't know what to expect going on this kayak trip, but I'm glad I went! The guides were very friendly and the glowworm canyon was breathtaking, everyone needs to experience it at least once in their life.

My husband, 6 and 8 year old daughters, and I took the day-time tour with Dan and had a great experience! Kayaking was a good workout but fun. Dan really engaged with our daughters - told them jokes, helped them learn how to paddle, and made sure they were having a great time. The glow worm cave itself is smaller... More

Awesome feedback, I don't think many people brave the jump into the Lakes water after warming in the thermal hot pools so well done for gathering your nerves and going for the leap! As you mentioned the Scenic Lake Rotoiti Tour is suitable for almost any age, happy that you enjoyed your trip. Hope to see you back on one... More

We met up with our guide James (aka Hobbit to differentiate him from the 2 other James') at Waimarino before we started. He was very friendly and polite, and had some things to finish up before we went, so invited us to have a look around the park. Once we got in the car and underway, he was chatty and... More
