Quite a trek as we're not experience hiker, but definitely worth it, views I won't forget in a hurry!

Brilliant couple of hours exploring the lovely falls and getting a good work out on the stairs down and up. The forest is very primeval and it feels like you are climbing back in time in a tropical forest as you descend to the lower falls. I

Super walk with great views of spectacular waterfalls, chance for a swim in bracing water, and lovely countryside.

This place is truly a hidden gem. You would honestly miss it altogether if you weren't looking for it. We went in with 28 kids on a school tour. The walk in is a little steep but manageable for most people (not wheelchair friendly). There are many beautiful photo spots on the way in and the pool at the bottom... More

Pretty falls 20 mins easy drive out of Tauranga. 15 min steep walk to bottom and about 20 mins back up. Not suitable for the unfit. Take swimmers. Swimming hole at bottom is 'refreshing' even in Summer.

Agree with ComoCat - a great little walk close to Tauranga. Ideal for kids - ie. not too far to walk, yet nice little places to safely play, both at the top and the bottom. A really pleasant trip enjoyed by all and FUN!!

We were looking for a short walk while staying in Tauranga, and these falls were only a 20 minute drive away, so hit the spot perfectly. The whole circuit from the car park takes around 30 minutes on well maintained tracks, with the lower falls and large rock pool at the halfway point. There are approx 120 stairs down ...... More

Location scouts would love these hidden falls, easily something to add to another Tomb Raider or Raiders of the Lost Arc film scene. We are continuing our hunt across NZ for the best free activities and were not disappointed by these beautiful falls. I've live for years in NZ and this is now by far my favourite Nth Island location.... More

Saw these falls one day driving around the area and was quite impressed. The paths around both sides of the three cascading falls are well maintained and well signed, but you are hardly out in the wilds, and so cannot get lost. The locals all jump into the pools from the rocks, but it looked quite wild (and cold). Great... More
