Golfers are not short of choice for courses in the Taupo area. However, prices are very variable with some very expensive courses. Although I enjoyed my visit to this course, at $55 for Affiliated members and $69 otherwise, I still thought it expensive in comparison with other courses in the wider Waikato, but I guess it is reasonable for Taupo...and... The Centennial is definitely the better and more challenging golf course. Interesting is that there are steam holes on some fairways. The other course is very easy and there was a group of ten or so players having a fun day out and all playing the same hole. There was a lot of drinking involved and we found beer cans... More

Centennial is in good condition, though the greens could be faster. Off the tees there is plenty of space and good reward for being on the correct line. Approaches to greens often take a bit of thought to alow for hight changes and slopes. Very pleasant, well groomed club course I played twice at 7am on my own and enjoyed a fast... More

I played in a charity game on the Centennial Course in Early November. Course was in great condition. I did enjoy the good run you were getting on the fairway, always helps your game.

I was on my own wanting a game of golf. Having called the golf club and arriving at the agreed time there was no one to play with. I had a round on my own with almost no one else on the course. I wanted to play the next day but they could not arrange anyone to play with. In... More

My friend who is a member took me to the golf club for a light lunch while her partner played golf. The restaurant is typical of a venue like this but the staff were extremely friendly, took time to ask questions and the service was great. The food was the freshest I have seen in a cafe for some time... More

ok for a day, we played the cheaper of the two courses on offer and found the front 9 a bit boring and somewhat confusing at times as to which way to go to your next hole. No turn around areas for carts as most holes you drove up to you then had to go back the way you came... More

The golf experience is good but the course was not as groomed as some. Green fees were quite high by our standards, but probably fair in a tourist town. Nice club house and amenities.

There are two adjacent 18 hole courses at the Taupo Golf Club. We played on both the Centennial and Tauhara courses. The Centennial is a bit more expensive and a slightly better course, but they were both enjoyable. The greens are very fast which didn't help our scores ! They have a great cafe upstairs with plenty of options and... More
