Though we visited during the off season where little was in bloom, the park was nevertheless worth the visit. Numerous short, easy to walk trails invite one to stroll through beautiful foliage, bird life abound. Benches at some points offer a rest, some with a view out to Lake Taupo. Entry is free, and even just a drive-through is worthwhile.

This is a very pleasant garden but allow a bit of time to do all the side tours. Definitely at its best when the rhodos and azaleas are out (end Oct), but always something worth seeing there. Free entry with donation box at the exit if you'd like to suport the society

These gardens were a delight to walk though with wonderful views out over the lake. Plenty of parking round the circular drive through the gardens. A hidden gem not to be missed.
