The sight and sound of these Falls was fabulous. We parked nearby then walked to cross over the water and down to see the very fast moving bubbling water.

Its once of the nice place to visit and can enjoy the beauty of the nature. If you are adventurous you can do some activities like jet boating which is quite expensive. But if you are on budget travel just visit the place as its free to visit and one of the most attractive place in taupo. Just 5-10 mins... More

There are several options of seeing these Falls - several different routes to walk or you can drive right to the top and walk around the very well maintained viewing areas. Although these falls are not particularly high, compared to others, there is an amazing amount of water travelling through a relatively narrow channel. Excellent to see and photograph

With New Zealand allowing private exploitation of nearly every natural site, the Huka Falls are for free - and at least as impressive. Walk around the small, but very nice rapids and falls without leaving with a hole in your wallet.

Great sounds and sensory overload watching and listening to the torrent of water below. Combine with a visit to the opening of the dam gates further down stream for more impressive rapids.

Very pretty scenery. Small falls but impressive volume of water. Free entry. Great photo opportunities. Worth including with visits to the dam and the Spa Thermal Park. Easy to drive to all three. Small kiosk should you need it. Should see even if driving through Taupo.
