This is a must see attraction if you are visiting Taupo easy walking to the falls of 2-5 minutes well signposted and perfect for holiday photos, toilets on site, lots of parking. Plenty of tracks for those who like to run or walk or tramp of varying abilities which are well sign posted and shady. Can get quite busy during... More

Wow, the turquoise water is just sensational crashing down over the rocks. Worth popping by if you are in Taupo. Busy with tourists but only a very short distance to walk from the car park.

A very nice scenery, but there are plenty more to visit. Ok, our KiwiExperience bus took us here to take a picture in 30-45 minutes; so I really dont know about the hikes you can take. Of course we liked to take a lot of great picture at the bridges. Its nice and a lot of tourists were there (ofc),... More

Easy parking, easy walking, spectacular falls. You need to walk up the pathway to get several views of it. It was fun to watch a jet boat come right up to the falls. Highly recommend. Easy side trip from Taupo.

We thought it would only take about 40 mins to walk there but you need to allow at least 1 hour each way. It is a lovely walk with beautiful scenery but not many places to rest. If you can't manage the walk it's an easy 5 mins drive from the town

Easy walking from Car Park. Visitors to the site won't be disappointed, beautiful coloured water and it's amazing the amount of water that flows over the falls each minute.

Good place to visit. Abundance of scenic beauty with multiple options for walking tracks. Recommend this activity (this is free and has no fees).

There is no doubt that the Huka Falls are impressive, but when compared with Icelandic waterfalls, or Niagara, there is little to shout about. There are a number of rapids and one final fall. We saw some canoeists come down the falls - a journey which has killed people in the past, but all of them successfully completed the trip.
