Although there's not a huge drop of water like most waterfalls the power of the rapids is awesome to see. You can also get some really great pictures. I was lucky enough to see them from the Taupo Floatplane as well as at the scenic outlook in person. It was definitely worth the visit.

I have seen many water falls, but the Huka falls is something different. The water which thunders down the cliffs has a beautiful light blue tinge which is awesome. We went on gazing at the falls from the lookouts and did not mind the hot sun beating down our backs. We then went on a Jet boat ride which was a... More

Very easy accessible falls. It probably contains some of the fastest moving water I have ever seen. I wouldn't mind a viewpoint further back than where the bridge is but views are still pretty good.

Definitely worth the visit. Take some time to do the walk but if you are stuck for time there are some nice lookouts just a stones throw from the carpark

We stopped at Huka Falls, since we were passing through the area anyway. Don't get me wrong - they are certainly beautiful, but after seeing many beautiful, cascading waterfalls throughout New Zealand, Huka Falls just didn't live up to the hype. Worth the stop if you are passing by, but I wouldn't go out of your way to see them!

I like stopping here and have done so many times. The falls look different Day / Night . Wet or Dry Weather. IT IS FREE TO LOOK AND WALK OVER THE BRIDGE. The Blue color of the water is Magnificent. 5 minutes to 1 hour to suit.

There are few nice lookouts. You can stop there on your way up north. We also took the huka jet which was a very nice experience- The view from the water level is great!

The falls are amazing but do judge when you visit if you don't want to be waiting hours for each photo shot you want to take. Plenty of space for cars (as everywhere in NZ) but tourist shop/loos basic.

If you like the outdoors and nature this is a must do!!! I'm disappointed I haven't seen it from the jet boat yet, but it was beautiful from the walking track.
