Huka Falls are a MUST for anyone travelling to around the Taupo and Rotorua area in the north island of New Zealand. The sheer power, volume and beauty of the falls will take your breath away. Viewing the falls is free but if you're feeling adventurous, I recommend paying for the rafting experience at the falls to get a closer... More

These falls are just of the highway and well worth the visit! Stunning! I did not expect to see so much beautiful clear blue water running through the gap in the rocks. If you drive past definitely stop in for this free attraction!

If you only do one thing in Taupo, I think this should be it. Amazing falls! Quite a crowd, but room to move. The colour of the water is so spectacular, bluest blue. You can drive and park quite close. Be warned, there is a charge for toilet facilities so have change.

If you're in Taupo a visit to the Huka Falls is worthwhile For me they are nothing special, there are many more spectacular falls in New Zealand

It is only a sort walk from the car park till you can hear and see the force of the falls. We took photos of the thrill riders in the boats but didn't join them. Well worth seeing

Quick stop over on our trip to Taupo. Easy parking and great views of the gushing water from the adjacent Bridge. Found it difficult to take baby prem to look out points (1min from bridge) as the path way is loose stones (not concrete). Huka falls displays the true power of mother nature.

We drove to Huka Falls on an overcast afternoon, but it was still an impressive sight. While it was busy, it was possible to get good views at the lookouts.

Must see if in Taupo, the water is so blue and white. Very easy to find just a short drive from the town center and with no admission fee you can't go wrong. Short distance from Craters of the moon so you can stop by that natural wonder and enjoy it also.

We ran there from the spa park car park. I would recommend this as it is beautiful. The falls were impressive when we got there too.
