This attraction along with the water release from Aratiatia Rapids are a must do when visiting the region. The sheer volume of water that passes down a narrow Canal like waterway makes for magnificent viewing. Ideal vantage points fro photos and videos. Only a few minutes drive from the Taupo C,B,D. Like any water attraction care must be taken in... More

We cycled out to Huka Falls, which was a great experience in itself. The power of the falls is awesome, and the views spectacular.

Not to be missed when in Taupo. It's a free attraction a small drive out of town. The natural rapids dropping at the speed and scale made is admire it with awe. The power and colour of the water is magnificent. Be aware that the gates close at 6pm. We were lucky that we got there for 5.30pm giving us... More

This is a beautiful force of nature. Loud rushing beautiful blue water. This cost nothing to do, like so many amazing things in New Zealand.

Natural and beautiful. Its also free! A great place to take a walk. Such a lovely place. The falls are a site to behold and the noise of the water is unlike anything I have experienced before.

Natural, beautiful, free, stunning, romantic, all year round, "why would you miss out on it"! I have been several times and now taken several other people. It's insane how every time I go the water is still so blue, so fierce, powerful and always beautiful. Taupo do a great job of connecting this experience to the dam release (Rapids) Spa... More

Perfect site for a a walk along the river. I warmly recommend to take swimming clothes with you and experience hot springs along the walk path. The falls are spectacular , so don't forget your camera!

These falls were incredible to see. The colour of the blue water was amazing and the noise and volume of water was nothing I had ever seen before. We got some fantastic photos.

Awesome view! Prepare coins to pay 50c for restroom use. Also, make sure that your cameras are working alright. Monopod will be helpful in taking good views, just be careful not to drop the phone. Haha!
