There was plenty of water in the Waikato River which thundered down the falls. Impressive. Some youngsters were jumping off the rocks into the river - looked very dangerous. The water was a beautiful foamy turquoise blue.

Still stunning even though the water level is very low due to the drought. Crystal looking water and the walk is pleasant around the Waikato river.

Nice little bush walk with a great view of the falls. Typical bsh setting for NZ and the water in the falls was very clear.

My husband and I have just returned from a short break in Lake Taupo. One of the most exhilarating outings we took was to Huka Falls where we enjoyed the thrills of the Huka Falls Jet boat ride. Short, but a must do. The drivers of these boats are incredible the way they maneuver the boat around trees and rocks... More

A definite tourist must. But make sure you car is well locked. Amount of water rushing over is amasing.

View the dramatic falls from the bridge and then walk down the path to get a great photo of the falls from down river. A good visitors centre in the car park with volunteer staff who are very knowledgeable about the Taupo area.

Its one hell of a water fall in the remote corner of nowhere! We had read about the place and therefore decided to drive up and take a look. Once you reach the place, you can hear the sound of water even till the car park. Its an aggressive and fast water fall! There is less to describe the place... More
