Went to the thermal pools with family and enjoyed the experience very much. Sooooo relaxing! This is a must on your trip to Taupo. The staff were excellent here.

The alternative to actually visiting the place is to drive through the area - you'll soon know what this part if the world is like - then look at other people's photos on line. There is only so much smelly rock and water you can look at. Plenty of other free places to see in the area (but be carefull... More

The owner gives you a hand held temperature gauge to measure the heat of the ground as you walk along the rather unkempt paths. This is fun and sort of adds to the experience. Nothing particularly spectacular but a pleasant stroll past the steaming vents.

Since we were the only ones on the walk the evening we drove out here, it was worth the few bucks it cost to go out there. Many of the key features were not active, though compared to the cost of the main thermal attractions up north (and the Disneyland amount of people), this was a great little 30-45 minute... More

Had a lovely afternoon in the pools. Just chilling. Quite expensive but you can stay as long as you like. Lovely setting. Changing rooms, and a shower.

Didn't know what to expect when we followed the signs to Thermal Valley. Low profile and low key approach by the owner. He is the map for a self-guided tour just keep turning left he said. Folks returning told us that they enjoyed it so do it. We stumped up the NZD10 each and set off. The thermal curiosities were... More

I wanted to show my visitors a thermal walk - they really enjoyed it. For me I think there are other ones in Taupo that are better. Having said that, the place is very interesting and I think good value for monies. Interesting people at the place and we were well looked after. A great place to sit down and... More

Entry here is slightly higher than Craters of the moon and the place just feels run down. You find yourself having to backtrack on the same paths to get to each viewpoint on tracks that need a bit of upkeep. Could be much better with a bit of an overhaul.

Fantastic place, amazing thermal site, streams, & the kids LOVED getting up close & personal with all the animals. If you only have time to visit 1 thermal site - make it this one! Totally recommend to everyone. Great price too 😀
