A great walk through nature, scenic and easy photo spots. Amazing how much stream vents out from no where! Well worth the walk around.

We visited one morning when it was pouring with rain and it seemed strange to be swimming in lovely warm water in the rain. If we'd been staying in the area longer, we would have had another visit to the pools.

What a lovely place to wander through and imagine the days of the Moa roaming the land, with the provided map and temperature gun (awesome fun). At first you will be greeted by the marvellous array of animals and then you head in doors wondering what will happen next. The walk is super. Thermal activity all around you. Make sure... More

Definately under advertised, I approached the cafe with reluctance. Initially from the Uk, I have lived and settled in NZ for 6 years now. On many occasions I have visited Taupo but on this occasions I needed to impress my parents from the UK and my 18 month old daughter. As we got there I was relieved to see a... More

I was not overly impressed with the walkway, even at a discounted price. Not a lot to see compared to similar attractions in Rotorua.Separately priced to pools. However the Thermal pools were fabulous - these need to be publicized more. We spent a couple of hours going from pool to pool, each with varying temperatures. Beautifully set in bush &... More

I love that these hot pools are for over 14 year olds. It was clean and the variety of pools added to the experience.

If you have an hour or so and interested in thermal activity - seeing steam pour out of holes in the ground and a map to follow that takes you to various highlights, this is an inexpensive place to visit. The cafe owner is friendly and for NZ$10 you get the map and a laser temperature gauge so you can... More

Very lovely staff at visit, we had a lovely walk around the thermal valley looking at maori carvings and very hot water coming from a large geyser, steam and all colours

We arrived for a much needed swim around 7 pm on a Friday night. It was quiet and so relaxing. The changing room needs more attention to cleaning though. The men's shower is out of order and has been for some time. Overall an enjoyable experience.

We enjoyed our evening visit. We had pre-booked a bargain entry deal and when we arrived the complex was very quiet, with the receptionist advising us that there were only a few people in the waters. The changing room was large and clean, and after a little walk down to the pools we entered the waters. The pools complex is... More
