Very nice display of how thermal activity actually works, with interactive activities to do for the little one, and big once alike. Very good activity on a rainy day out or for people who have never learned about plates of the earth and lava.

If you want to know what an earthquake feels like, or see how a geyser works this is the place for you. Interesting footage of various eruptions and earthquakes.

This was interesting for both adults and children. Hands on activities and information about all things volcanic plus an earthquake simulator

Quite disappointing. The information was not presented in an interesting was, just boards of information, and the videos were dated. Do not bother stopping here, keep doing to Huka falls.

Quite a bit of info in here but presentation is very old school and small - videos are interesting but can probably be accessed on the web

Its great to see places like this but it was very small and outdated. Some of the activities werent working which made the kids lose intrest very quickly.

It is very small place so do not expect grand museum as you will be disappointed. We went the on rainy day as there was not much else to do for our kids (both under 10). They seemed to enjoy the experience which is the most important factor. I think 30 min is sufficient amount of time for a visit.

Can walk around it in 20mins and that's taking your time. Some of the items did not work. Sorry to say not worth it, my 10year old son who loves volcanos was even a bit bored. Could have potential

This is a fun family oriented place where you can solve puzzles and buy them! It's very user friendly, free to enter, and a fun place to take kids big and small for a bit of entertainment when the weather goes bad temporarily. You may end up buying one of those puzzles, like I did!
