In our travels around NZ, we have visited several honey shops and this one has topped them all so far. Make it an educational trip by studying about the amazing bee with the children beforehand. Give out some honey-based prizes for good learning! Also, the product assortment is vast and varied -good for gifts. More

We went to the Honey Hive and saw real life bees in their own hives that were made with clear perspex so you can see right in. There's a self guided tour around there with the labelled signs. There is really nothing special about this store. I can imagine that little ones who haven't seen a beehive at a zoo or something would really like this. If it's on your way, it's worth a stop, but I wouldn't make a special stop to go see it. More

Another must see, oh first try there honey ice cream, Yummy. They had everything tastings and a cafe area and heaps of products you can buy I think this is more for adults then kiddies. More

This place is really just a store for honey-based products but it's interesting to see the variety of things that can be made with honey.
