After the big museum Te Papa, we were happy to discover the history of Taupo and of the Maori. It was beautiful to see how they do the bags with the leaves or the beautiful Maori boat and to walk trough the nice garden. A good beginning in this beautiful area!

This is a very good museum with a number of interesting, well curated displays. If you are interested in learning about Taupo's history and the Maori you should definitely visit. Well worth the small entrance fee.

The museum itself was small. It holds some interesting facts and displays on the area and it's people and their heritage.

This museum is well worth a visit as you can learn so much about the area. The healing garden is also lovely and it is clear that this is a well managed and continually evolving museum which is a great asset to the community and visitors.

Amazing to pack so much information into such a small space. We nearly did not bother to go in but were glad we did.

The area history was revealing and interesting. I was dissappointed the glow glass display was not up but they have a well designed museum and is priced well.
