Went here with the family, was so relaxing. Very quite and peaceful, with the winter sun setting the pools where a great place to hide, the top pool was roasting and took about 5 minutes to get in. The only downside is that the changing rooms are a wee walk away and in the cold evening air not great, also... More

Warm & Inviting by lovely hosts on arrival. Appeared very popular from International visitors as I listen to different languages. When I went into the pools, every part of me embraced the true essence from the waters. Grateful my partner brought me here and I can't wait to visit again, next time we are down from tge Far North. Every... More

We didn't use the pools, although they did look inviting. We just walked around the terraces and enjoyed the geothermal activity. We got a warm welcome when we arrived and enjoyed a relaxing time walking around the area. It was all very well done with more work continuing to improve it. The cafe was not open so it's worth checking... More

What a glorious place to spend you tired weary well travelled body. Three stepped pools each with increasing temperatures so you can find the spot you like and stay there. Very picturesque and also very tranquil

Perfect stop after a 6 hour drive - I could spend all day there. We arrived at about 11.30 in the morning and there was only two other people there so that was great. So peaceful!, I went up into the highest, hottest pool and my whole body was just relaxed I closed my eyes and all I could hear... More

I almost don't want to share this little treasure of Taupo's; as a resident of the area for 7 years, this is the first time we have visited the hot pools at Wairakei and quite frankly the less people who know about them the more we get to keep them to ourselves! That's not going to help the fabulous owners... More

I have been to wairakei terraces before but I have never soaked in the silica waters. I would definitely advise you where jandals or flip flops as the path is a tad tender under foot down to the pools especially when you come out of the gorgeous warm water. There are three pools varying in heat and the middle pool... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Wairakei Terraces Pools last week. Greeted by friendly Receptionist; Modern & spacious facilities; Thermal Pools were above expectations - beautiful natural teal-blue colour, good variety of temperatures, beautiful setting. Will be back!

This is a place worth stopping for. The view is great so take a camera, Only one member of staff we seen, at reception, young but not happy in her work at all. Needs training and I thought her get up and go had got up and gone. Small walk to pools from the changing rooms. But worth it.
