Trying to catch these prawns is harder than you'd think! Try and get the sun behind you so you can see them in the water. Ask the staff for plenty of tips and advice and keep changing your fishing spot.

Not only can you walk around an easy track and take in the sights. You can even try to catch your dinner. Keeps the kids (and adults) entertained for hours trying to capture the elusive prawns in the pools. Can be a bit cooler when the wind picks up and the only food to purchase is in the restaurant, so... More

As Local New Zealander's we were very disappointing with the price and the food served at Prawn Park. Shocking to think this is served to our overseas visitors! We will NEVER GO BACK.

In the Entertainment Book. We went fishing for a couple of hours with no luck :( BUT got free passes to go back again :) great fun and would have easily spent more time there but we went in a very cold day. Looking forward to taking the kids there. Great service, great place!

The two of us decided to go after his sister went with her hubby & kids. They thoroughly enjoyed it so off we went... A little hesitant about the entry fee of $26NZ each, but not too bad considering other touristy places charge a lot more. The guided tour was relaxed, friendly and fun, especially the bit where we got... More

Although this is the place for prawning, I gave it a miss cos it was slightly chilled and drizzling that day so did not wish to stand there for prawning. But would like to go back again to try the prawning on a better day. I did try the prawn restaurant next to it. It was very good.

My girlfriend and I did the tour and spent a couple hours fishing. Sun was out and couldn't have asked for a better day! Caught 3 decent size prawns (patience) and then enjoyed the fun things to do around the place. Cooked the prawns later that night at our hotel, absolute beauty! Don't go here if you can't bring out... More

we'll at least that was our hope, but mores the pity we had bites only :-(. No prawns wanted to jump out of the water and come home with us. But that alone is not why we were there. Lovely area and relaxing around the ponds trying to catch the prawns. But once you tire of that, plenty of activities... More
