Its so easy to spend the whole day here with a wide range of activities. You can take your own picnic and drinks (non-alcoholic) as the restaurant is beautiful but for me expensive. As well as fishing there is a guided tour, trout viewing and feeding , warm foot baths and heaps of other good things to fill in a... More

Been here in both if our trios to NZ and will go again when I next get back out there. Great food and a very picturesque riverside location. Next time I will make more of my visit and go prawn fishing...the record for the largest prawn catch needs me to break it!

At first glance this may seem expensive, but we've been here as a couple and with a 4 year old and on both occasions have happily spent the entire day here. Start with a tour - this will give you lots of information and a fishing lesson, then move on to the fishing. We spent a couple of hours and... More

we went there with 6yo and 3yo took them fishing, .. 1yo was too small to fish, but still had fun on the swings, and enjoyed eating the prawns. The kids liked how they had the opportunity to cook their own prawns. The lay out is nice with it's little docks, quite a good place to go, my kids always... More

Something you just have to do becasue its not something you get to do everyday. we made it an hour before the park closed and i have to admit as a group of 4 we only caught 2 prawns. having to be very patient is not my thing but it was a fun day out and i would definatly go... More

We had a great family day out at the Prawn Farm. Lots for the kids and adults to do. The food was a bit expensive but I guess that's cause it's a tourist attraction.

I totally recommend this place if you are a seafood/prawn fishing addict. My boyfriend and I had so much fun here (we both enjoy the odd squid and fish), we caught 22 prawns (people only catch 3 in total but we are pros) and the restaurant cooks these for you. The attraction itself is pretty creative and there are information... More

Liked the tour of the prawn farm and had fun "catching" some prawn for appetizer. It is not an easy task to hook a prawn. We ended up buying enough for dinner!!!

Thank you for the review, sounds like you had some fun, even if the Prawns were being a bit tricky. We hope you enjoyed your take away Prawns for dinner. More

After viewing the cost to catch our lunch with no guarantee we would be successful, we opted to just visit the restaurant and partake of a prawn curry and a glass of wine. The service was prompt and polite, the meal was well cooked and presented and the views from the large windows of the Huka Jetboat were spectacular.
