Nice walk around lake, not sure what the bubble boy was about

We decided to drive around Lake Rotorua and on Te Ngae Road found three gas stations in a row selling petrol 10 cents a litre less than in the City. Bonus! A short stop at the airport then on to the Ohau Channel which connects Rotorua with Rotoiti. A while back, we stayed at the Marama Resort, the early part... More

We found there was a free concert and fireworks show on the waterfront which we enjoyed until the rain and wind delayed the fireworks but they were good when it finally happened.

This was not a place I was looking into seeing, but if you are driving from Aukland to Wellington (I highly suggest), this is a great town to stop over in and spend the night - great night life, affordable accommodation, great restaurants and friendly people. Rotorua is also very close to Hukka Falls which is also a fantastic site... More

Amazing view combined with the black swans made it really nice. It's definitely worth a quick stop even if only to grab a coffee !

A beautiful lake to return to. Great views of Lake Rotorua from all over the town. Stay at Novotel Lakeside and wake up to the sun on the Lake. Walk along the waterfront while children play at the playground.

The domain foreshore of Lake Rotorua is a great place to come for a picnic or a walk along the lake edge. It is not far from the city centre, yet offers a range of activities from paddle boats, plane rides, orb balls, (summer) and the Lakeland Queen paddle steamer leaves from here. There is always something to look at... More

Another place to stop and visit when over in NZ. Lots to do, either on the lake or off. Chill out at the Polynesian Spa, or do a little shopping.

Beautiful lake with nice walking around it.Our hotel was situated right next to the lake so we had fantastic views of the lake.

Nothing quite like watching the kids play on the playground while having a picnic on the shore. Feed the ducks and swans, or just hang out and people watch.
