Well worth a holiday to Rotorua and to sit by the lake. Tidy walkways now make this a very attractive walk at anytime of the day to view this magnificent lake

This is very close to the city. I noticed tourists taking photos of the many black swans which must have intrigued them. A very pleasant area to stroll around and enjoy or to just sit and relax.

Walked around the edge of this lake for a while which was amusing. Considered throwing myself into the chocolate pot pool...try and find this one...it's tiny!

It's a lake, yes it's pretty but I have seen many. A little smelly in Rotorua with all the Thermal acitivity. I did prefer Lake Taupo much prettier and no smell!!

Beautiful lakefront scenery, you won't need a good camera to take amazing pictures. Pack a sandwich and just sit at the bench enjoying the scene. Easy parking and a playground nearby to keep the kids busy.

Don't worry, you don't need to book anything. Just try to walk or drive at sunset to see a nice view of this huge lake created after an eruption thousands of years ago.

Lake Rotorua is very scenic and is a lovely place for a stroll. For the daring, there are options of parasailing or jet boat rides, or for a more sedate activity, a cruise on the Lakeland Queen (paddle steamer) is a great way to spend an hour (there are breakfast, lunch and coffee cruises). There is also a regular market... More

Rotorua is a destination that has it all. It pays to plan your time well in advance for this reason. With so much to do it really needs more than just a weekend.

You get closer to some of the steaming vents in the boat, but the hiking trail was much more fun. The lake is beautiful, and there are a couple of stops that are spectacular. Lots of black swans if you are a twitcher. We really enjoyed it.
