Such beautiful scenery with natural beauty and wildlife, it was the perfect spot to have a picnic near town before heading off. Lovely to see the ducklings and cygnets.

Very beautiful, makes your mind wander through pleasant spheres. You could stay for days just lookingt at the lake. Nice walks around. Compared to similar lakes on the south island, however, rather "touristic".

We always seem to keep coming back to the lake front when we visit Rotorua, the kids absolutely love the park and it is usually always brimming with hundreds of other children too. Have parked up and had so many takeaways here I have lost count hahaha

Another free and great thing to do in Rotorua. Start at the end by the marina and walk your way around the lake path to the museum. It is so lovely. It was a stunning sunny day when we were there. We followed it up with a ice cream at Lady Jane's - which is near the marina area. Great... More

The lake is beautiful with many walking tracks and parks around its shores. There are steaming bubbling geothermal activity that can be seen for free. If time or $'s are limited then there is no reason to miss out. Admittedly they are not as spectacular as the many commercial spots but it is something for free. That is rare in... More

When the sun was shining it is a nice place to visit. The playground by the lake was quite large and my son enjoyed it. There's lots of ducks and swans on the lake although you're not able to feed them.

From Jack & Di's Motel there is a short walk to the lakeside and a pleasant walk along it's shore. Black swans and ducks abound.

Rotorua lake and other geothermal parks around Rotorua provide a unique experience to the tourist. On the side of the lake there a re a number of spots where boiling water is bubbling out and surrounding rock rendered yellow because of sulphur dioxide escaping through holes in the ground. in fact, you can smell sulphur from a distance. Near Rotorua... More

We stayed at lakeside here and it was a lovely experience for us all. It rained one day, but the lake was so peaceful to watch. We didn't experience the many activities that the lake has to offer, but watched fishermen haul in some good looking fish.
