It was quite cold and pouring rain, but the lake looked pretty, saw lots of black swans and many other birds. Pathways were clear and easy trail to follow

Sitting down by the lake enjoying a picnic lunch is really lovely as it is so multi cultural area with people always coming and going, really lovely being able to talk to these people being from different parts of the world even for short periods of time, really lovely place fine or raining.

We got there in the afternoon walked around lakefront drive area, really enjoyed the sea view and the sunset, it was very windy though. The scene was simply breathtaking, you could sit there enjoy the serenity for the whole day and it would be worth it for those who live in the city all year round.

By chance I find a place call kerosine creek in between rotorua and waiotopu. I think it's secrets from all traveler. The creek run in to the hot spring and make an endless hot bath .the seraunding is like heaven with its tree and blue sky. If you travel NZ I suggest you visit

The lake was at end of our road about a 20 min walk. the are several lake tours you can do including a paddle wheeler boat. Great park to stroll along the lakeshore after dinner.

The lake is interesting with many geothermals adding to a murky coloring near the museum. We saw many, many birds enjoying the warm current. End the walk at the Maori village and see the church if it is open.

Such beautiful scenery with natural beauty and wildlife, it was the perfect spot to have a picnic near town before heading off. Lovely to see the ducklings and cygnets.

Very beautiful, makes your mind wander through pleasant spheres. You could stay for days just lookingt at the lake. Nice walks around. Compared to similar lakes on the south island, however, rather "touristic".
