Just sat at the lakefront this trip and enjoyed the sunshine from our rental car as the southerly winds were very chilly. Area is maintained well, great kids play area and clean public toilets.

Nice lake, as many others in New Zealand, for a relaxing walk. Landscape is nice, though is not as beautiful as around other lakes, such as Lake Wakatipu. If you suffer from sinusitis or rhinitis the sulphur in the air might well heal you!

The way the steam rises from the hot areas of the lake and the clear cold quality of the cold sections is unique to these type of thermal experiences.

We stayed at a beautiful bach directly onto the lake which gave us beautiful views morning and evening. The town is a bit mixed but there are loads of attractions to keep everyone entertained. We visited in Winter but were lucky enough to have blue skies and sun throughout our visit. A great family destination.

Had lunch sitting around the Lake then walked around. It was so peaceful just watching the ducks and swans. The Maori Canoe at the end of the Lake is worth having a look at.

Had an amazing experience with family at Lake Rotorua. Sunday market with lots of kids activities. My son totally loved the Sparky fire engine rides. great atmosphere - an excellent place for families with younger kids.

Liked the lake for being smack right in the city centre of Rotorua. A pity that there was not really a nice part where you could swin or have a good restaurant fronting it. Please be aware that i am only reviewing the part of the lake on the city side and i have not explored the other shores.

Lake Rotorua is very beautiful. A great place to relax and watch the world go by. Rotorua is definitely a great place to visit when you are in North Island.

The lake is very pretty, we stayed in a house overlooking the lake and the sunrise and sunset was amazing every day. We walked along the lake from Memorial Drive to Rotorua Museum. It took quite a while but was a nice walk. We saw quite a few black swans on the way.

Gone are the many black swans. Instead tourists have encouraged an invasion of voracious gulls that will snatch food from unwary and unguarded hands. Inflatable playgrounds and cheap food shops have taken over. Shame. It used to be nice.
