Lovely spot

Nothing quite like watching the kids play on the playground while having a picnic on the shore. Feed the ducks and swans, or just hang out and people watch.

Having been holidaying on the shores of Lake Rotorua since the age of 6. It has changed markedly since the 1950s but its still a popular destination for international tourists. I would certainly recommend visitors spend time in the area. It has so much to offer.

What can I say ... I live close to the lake and I love it, warts and all. Head down at different times of the days, to different spots and you'll always find something interesting. I'm into photography so am blessed to have this at the end of my street. Visitors to Rotorua - head down to the Lakefront where... More

Our trip to New Zealand started out with several days at Lake Rotorua. We were in a condo at lakeside. The birds and scenery were absolutely wonderful. The people of the Country were most accommodating and friendly even though we were not the best of driver's in their country!!

Simply serene and calm and just plain awesome view of Lake Rotorua. With so many ducks and swans around you will feel close to nature and dont forget to catch the sunrise there if there's time! Just plain beautiful!

With all the things to do in Rotorua we completely missed the lake until the last evening because it is hidden behind the main road in town. I wished we had found it earlier because this was completely opposite from the touristy part of Rotorua. This was a well needed break from the busy days of travel.

Beautiful walk around parts of the lake, where we able to see geothermal activity, and smell it too! Highly recommended, especially at sunset on a clear day, just stunning!

The area around the lake is always worth a walk, it has been improved over the years and now provides a quiet and reflective area
