Staff were very friendly and helpful at this attraction. Ticket prices were fairly reasonable, making it an affordable day out. We enjoyed the Big Splash ride and seeing all the birds and trout. Surroundings were lovely. Was great to see the famous kiwi bird in its enclosure. We had the option to come back at night and see them outside... More

A lovely wildlife park and good interaction with native species. Spend the extra $10 and do the behind the scenes Kiwi breeding program. This little bird will amaze you. The bird show wasn't great, I wasn't keen to non-natives flying through hoops. It would be greatly improved with an educational element and NZ birds on show. Otherwise an enjoyable day.

We added this night time park walk through to our Miati Maori Village evening. Our guide was great and very informative. We wanted to go specifically for the Kiwi viewing experience and didn't read much about the tour before hand so we were pleasantly surprised by the other animal viewing opportunities it provided and the guide was very informative and... Nice place to spend some time. I was disappointed in that I expected to see a lot of Kiwi birds....they only have three and they are behind glass in a dimly lit room. It was hard to see them. We were lucky that they were awake and walking around. They have an outdoor bird show, weather permitting. There is a... More

Hello Sue, It is great to hear that you enjoyed your time in the park recently. Kiwi are interesting little birds and being flightless, nocturnal, ground dwelling, burrow digging creatures they can be difficult to display at times. We are very pleased you got to see some during your visit and the great part about the park is that you... More

I like the fact that entry allows you to come back at night to see the kiwis. They aren't the most outgoing of animals even at night but we did manage to see a couple. The park was worth a visit. Unfortunately the water ride broke just before we wanted to go on it - we were offered a return... More

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts about your recent visit. Kiwi are "not outgoing" as you say but it is great you got to see and learn about them during your visit. With 3 birds on display during the day and another 4 on display in the evenings, you do get a great opportunity to... More

over 20 years since last visit, not disappointed, the old favourites and some new ones, lucky enough to see the morepork being fed, Kiwis didnt co-operate and stayed firmly asleep in their burrows, Big Splash lots of fun - be prepared to get wet!!!

20 years is a long time! We have been open for 80 years now so we often hear this. Great that you enjoyed your visit though and that you got to see our lovely Morepork being fed - isnt it amazing how quiet they are when they fly? Hope to see you back in the park again soon! More

We paid the additional supplement to go into the park after the Mitai Maori cultural show. We had a pleasant walk through the park at night; the lights were pretty, and we got to meet the fish, Kea and a few other guests. Undoubtedly the highlight is the kiwi house. Absolute quiet is required and it's very dark. But you... More

We really enjoyed the bird show the kids loved it and they really enjoyed the Big Splash Ride. We also filled our drink bottle up with the fresh water from the taps.

Hi Karen, It is lovely to hear that you and your children enjoyed your visit, and the Big Splash ride. The fresh spring water is not quite the "fountain of youth" but it is lovely! The park has been open now for over 80 years so maybe it is the water helping us to look so good? Thanks for taking... More
