I like the fact that entry allows you to come back at night to see the kiwis. They aren't the most outgoing of animals even at night but we did manage to see a couple. The park was worth a visit. Unfortunately the water ride broke just before we wanted to go on it - we were offered a return... More

over 20 years since last visit, not disappointed, the old favourites and some new ones, lucky enough to see the morepork being fed, Kiwis didnt co-operate and stayed firmly asleep in their burrows, Big Splash lots of fun - be prepared to get wet!!!

We paid the additional supplement to go into the park after the Mitai Maori cultural show. We had a pleasant walk through the park at night; the lights were pretty, and we got to meet the fish, Kea and a few other guests. Undoubtedly the highlight is the kiwi house. Absolute quiet is required and it's very dark. But you... More

We really enjoyed the bird show the kids loved it and they really enjoyed the Big Splash Ride. We also filled our drink bottle up with the fresh water from the taps.

Hi Karen, It is lovely to hear that you and your children enjoyed your visit, and the Big Splash ride. The fresh spring water is not quite the "fountain of youth" but it is lovely! The park has been open now for over 80 years so maybe it is the water helping us to look so good? Thanks for taking... More

Through peaceful walks among native plants and bush the kids and adults can observe tuataras, native birds like keas in walk-in enclosures and trouts. All the displays are setup to be eye-level for both toddlers and adults which makes for a great family experience. As it is opened late, you can see Kiwis at night as the ticket is an... More

Thanks! We love that you enjoyed your time with us and that you did so much while you were here. You are right, those back seats on the Big Splash can get a little wet but the ride is such fun it is a small price to pay! Great also that you saw kiwi and all of our other unusual... More

Our family had a great time at Rainbow Springs. The kiwis were very active when we visited the enclosure which was awesome. We sprang for the extra $10 for the kiwi tour and it was very interesting and informative. The bird show was great and we enjoyed all the rest of the wildlife. Unfortunately it was a bit too cold... Thanks for the review! We are very pleased you got to see our kiwi being active - we have actually started hatching kiwi now so some of the eggs you saw when you did the Kiwi Tour are now little balls of kiwi-fluff and are on display for the public to see. Great that you enjoyed your visit and we... More

A day's entertainment for the whole family. The bird show was brilliant. Getting up close and personal with a real life kiwi was an experience never to be forgotten and the water ride was informative and exciting, especially the big drop.

We entered the attraction at about 7p.m. on a winter`s evening and whilst we still had to pay full entry price, we did enjoy the attraction and spent much time in the kiwi enclosure, getting up close to the kiwis, whilst also getting up close to the keas in their cage and viewing the various reptiles in their tanks. A... More

Hello Robert. Thanks for your review and we are very happy to hear you enjoyed your evening visit. The ticket you purchased should have been valid for use the next day in the park (so that you could use the Big Splash, see the Bird Show and experience some of our animal encounters). Enjoyed the peaceful aspect of the park and the layout. Younger family members enjoyed the Great Splash. A nice gift shop finishes your trip off well.
