Rainbow Springs is on the final approaches to Lake Rotorua, as one heads in from Hamilton. It is just one more wildlife park, much like the National Wildlife Centre at Masterton, but it is a very good one, and seems to have more features than Masterton, including a water ride. It's more accessible, and therefore probably more crowded. The paths... More

This is the place to take the whole family for a day. Beautiful and peaceful, yet kids playing safely in the park and a wonderful atmosphere. Following the paths which are also suitable for wheelchair access, we were able to see birds, feed fish and a few other surprises. Great shop for souvenirs and their cafe serves a more than... More

It is a very nice quiet park with lots of shade and animals to see. And for the kids a good playground and do not miss the Dinosaurus! But look out you might get wet :-)

We haven't visited Rainbow Springs for over 25 years so with damp day in the offing we paid a visit with grandchildren. Very glad we did. At $40 per adult it could easily fall into the expensive category. Not so! The whole site was clean & tidy, well signposted & the free map was easy to follow. We were all... More

We enjoyed this visit with our 3 children. Not too busy at 3pm, caught 2 shows, planned a tour of the kiwi facility, enjoyed an uninhibited walk around the property. Admission pass is good for 24 hours, so plan your arrival to allow and afternoon then morning visit without spending the whole day. Alternately, visit here early, walk to the... More

Enjoyed the informative guided tour and seeing the Kiwi birds along with a range of other NZ wildlife. Worth taking the tour for additional information.

Good chance to kiwis and some other local species. Not a zoo but some enclosures with a few species.

Awesome development of native bush, NZ wildlife. Great to see and feed the massive Rainbow and Brown Trout up close. Bird enclosures and show excellent. Log ride for adults and kids at yeh end of the park which was a bit of fun to finish it off.
