My family of 5 with 3 teens visited the Rainbow Springs park near Rotorua to see some kiwis. The girl (can't recall her name) who took the tour was so passionate and informative about everything kiwi! We found the tour fascinating and my kids learnt a lot about how the park is helping to raise endangered kiwis. We also loved... More

Really wanted to see a kiwi so we went to the night time viewing. It was not mentioned that the kiwis wake up past 10pm so we had to wait for a few hours for it to wake up. There was no lighting in the kiwi enclosure and we could only see a shadowy outline of the bird. Guess it... More

A great experience, and the added bonus of being able to visit again on the evening of your visit to view the park by night light and see the kiwi in their natural habitat was a brilliant initiative and a must do while in Rototua

Through the gates to see the trout. Massive about a foot long. Feeding them and watching them swim around. What a lovely sight. Then throughout the par we are seeing more and more different species of animals. The Kea, the Eel, the Geese. All sorts. Absolutely amazing. Then down the big splash. Oh my, was that fun or what.

This was a lovely place to walk around in, wonderful for kids and pram friendly. Our toddler loved watching and looking for the birds. And watching the trout swimming around. (Gee there is big fish there!) We even watched one make it way up stream. Amazing things. We packed our own lunch, but the cafe looked great. We spent a... More

I took my family of 6 including 3 adults and 3 children (5, 9 and 13). It was priced well and not too busy. The cost included a couple of shows and covered all of the opening hours which extended quite late. We paid extra and received a tour of the kiwi enclosure and learnt about their programs to support... More

I had very fond memories of Rainbow Springs from when I was a kid, and recently visited with my own son. It is still a nice place to visit, but it didn't really live up to my memories. I'm sure they used to have farm animals like deer that you could feed. The new log flume ride is quite good,... More

Combined ticket available for this and Agrodome sheep show for discount. Do check this out. The two places' visit does not need to be on the same day. Small zoo/conservatory type attraction, seeing some native birds and fish. I've been here twice in the past few years and take around 2-3 hours to comfortably stroll around the place and have...
