Compared with Auckland Zoo which is much bigger and has quite a lot more attractions this place was about the same price...however it was still brilliant, great Big Splash Ride and you can even go back at night and watch the nocturnal Kiwis!

This is a good family attraction. The addition of the water ride is a good idea and, although it's not slick, it's still fun! I really appreciate that the entry price gives you the right to return later on the same day - especially when the kiwi come out just after dark which was well worth going back for.

We went for a few hours which was a little rushed but still worth the visit. Went to the gondola and luge first up and then this. All done by lunch so you can pack a lot in.

Kids enjoyed the big splash. Food was good but long queues at lunchtime. Something for everyone here.

I took some visitors here yesterday. Haven't been here in a little while and it looks fantastic. Some improvements from last time. The bird aviary, play area for kids, splash water ride was a hit, laser maze and the café and ice cream parlour were great. Saw two kiwis today, amazing. You can get a photo at the end of... More

Loved this attraction, we bought a behind-the-scenes tour of the kiwi hatchery and all of us thought it was thoroughly worth it. We all learnt so much. Hot tip: buy your ticket after 4:30pm. You can use it that night to see the adult kiwi when they wake up (about 1hr after dark), then return the next day to see... More

I took my children here with my parents as a day trip from Tauranga. Even on a deal, the cost of a ticket was pretty expensive, more expensive than Hamilton Zoo, which is far bigger. What was disappointing was that some of the more interactive tours came at additional cost. At $10 - $20 extra a person per activity, that... More

we did this as part of a package with the mitai Maori night experience and it was worth it partly just to walk off the meal! Our guide was a lovely, friendly young woman with lots to tell. We were a small group of four and though I was freezing cold, I enjoyed all of it. Seeing the kiwi bird... More
