Loved seeing the NZ wildlife so close, the tuataras were amazing. Jenny the Kea was a highlight for our children, as the wet ride.

I thought the park was quite beautiful, filled with native plants and really nice aviaries and terrariums for the animals. The educational aspect was well-done, with keeper talks hourly on the species and their specific contribution to conservation efforts for each animal. The kiwi exhibit was exceptional. My group opted for the behind the scenes tour and got a backstage... More

We had a family visit during the school holidays, two adults and an elderly parent. We watched the entertaining 'bird show', really good. The place is set up well for walking easily. The 'Big Splash' was fun...be prepared to get a bit wet though! Cafe has a range of food and lots of tables to choose fro both inside and... More

We went there specifically for the Kiwis. It was a fascinating experience observing the nocturnal creatures behind glass enclosures. The annexed building provided ample of information of the Kiwis so a guide was not necessary for us. The rest of the park was also interesting and provided a variety of wildlife.

When in New Zealand on the North Island you should visit this place as it is simply amazing, so many fish in such beautiful grounds. There is of course an entrance fee but its well worth it.

We had such a fantastic family experience here. The school holiday family special was much appreciated. The whole park was set out very well and much cleaner than I expected. The bush walks and being ale to walk in amongst birds was so lovely the paths were laid out very well. The kids fed the trout and found the lizards.... More

The park is fairly small but worth a visit if you have a couple of hours to spend. The Kiwi house was informative and had rooms to view the birds, although this is hit and miss and we didn't see the bird here. We actually saw the birds in another venue - Te Puia - their set up included an... More

We loved Rainbow springs. This park is well laid out with lovely paths in the forest and around the fish ponds and streams. The fish, reptile and bird displays are great my young sons love trying to find the lizards in there enclosures. The highlight for my sons is the log flume ride. Bring a rain coat or buy a... More
