Polynesian Spa has the use of two types of hot mineral water, one alkaline and one acidic, that are the unique point of difference of the operation. Many thousands of visitors to the spa have attested to the remedial effect the hot mineral waters have on such ailments as muscular complaints, arthritis and rheumatism. The Priest and Radium springs are most noted in this respect. We invite you to experience this World Top Ten Spa (natural/thermal/medical), as voted by readers of the prestigious Conde Nast Traveller magazine for several years and once again in 2011.We look forward to welcoming you to Polynesian Spa. « less

The pools are great. Everything else is a complete rort. It costs $50 for 2 to sit in some mineral hot pools. Very expensive considering you'll be lucky to stay longer than 1 hour. You have to pay for everything else including lockers, it is not all inclusive. Experienced way better for less. More

We opted for the private Spa room with Lake view. Not cheap but we were spoiling ourselves. I think we were both almost in a relaxing coma after the 30mins. Joints feeling loosened up & healthier. Make sure you drink plenty of water before & after - We were still dehydrated - waking up with a dry mouth/throat - the... More

While this is pricey it is worth it for the view of the lake and the sophistication of the whole complex. We spend a 2 hours there without doing a treatment which at $150 was a bit out of our price range. Recommend this for a relaxation in the thermal waters More

Quite small (much smaller than expected) but nice all the same. One of cheaper family activities rotorua offers and very laid back. Clean and friendly. More

After the 7.5 hour, intense Tongaririo Crossing Hike causing extremely sore muscles, my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a relaxation massage and a dip in the Lake retreat pools. We arrived early and were told to be out of the pools and ready for our treatment by 3:45pm. We were disappointed to discover that this was not... More

We just went in the basic thermal pools and swim area as the personalised pools were rather expensive if you just wanted a quick dip - as we did. There is a small swimming pool, changing rooms and two thermal pools in the area we were in. If you want to pay more and spend longer there, apparently the private... More

While it was a great treat from my husband, it was a little off-putting to see people blowing their noses and spitting in the public pools...next time I'll go somewhere less public! More

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, such behaviour as spitting in some cultures is not frowned upon. However, we continue to educate these cultures that this kind of behaviour is unacceptable in New Zealand. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and we hope to see you back again in the future! More

My husband and I paid for the Lake spa experience (the more expensive of the two spa choices) and there were 4 pools on our end which varied in temperature. We also had a lovely view of the lake.
