This was such a fun filled afternoon and evening! It gave a great insight to the songs, games and maori lifestyle. I LOVED seeing a real Hakka right before my eyes and the meal that was cooked for - gorgeous!!!! The room we stayed in was beautiful but I did have a bad nights sleep, mainly because the room sleeps... More

We took our daughter and her new boyfriend from The Netherlands on his first visit to New Zealand around some places in the Central North Island to get a good feel for New Zealand. One place we had to go was Rotorua and to experience as authentic as possible Maori culture. The Tamaki Maori Village experience did that and more!!... More

The tour and show is an excellent way to learn about the culture and heritage of the Maori. The guides were entertaining, the forest setting was great, and the program itself was awesome. Well worth your time.

Such a great experience. Getting picked up by Dennis (the menace) the bus driver who was a fun and informative guy. The mauri village is stunning and the cultural information is interesting. It's lovely to learn about the great values of the mauri people. I was chosen as a chief which was great and I got to interact and learn... More

A full welcoming ceremony. A tour around the village with cultural demonstrations as you go. You even get a chance to have a go. Then traditional entertainment followed by a full Hangi feast. The food was better then a lot of hotel restaurants and the service was much more efficient. It all appeared very authentic not a Disney style copy.... More

The bus ride out to the village started the evening in a very positive way getting to know where other bus members were from and learning key maori words. The village displays and performances were very good. The 'hungi' cooked food was plentiful and delicious. The NZ pavlova was the best I have ever tasted. As an Aussie I have... More

We really enjoyed our evening experience - while it is a Commercial operation we found it informative, fun & relaxed. We were impressed that all staff involved seem to be giving their best to make sure everyone had a good experience. Food was like a Family roast followed by nice desert & plenty of food. Drinks reasonable price. Dennis, our... More

This visit to a reconstructed Maori village was a lot of fun and very educational. For me and my wife, the highlight ( other than the great food) was the short video about cultural heritage. What we both admired about it was the straightforward telling of events with no blame being assigned, just what happened and how the Maori adapted.
