Experience an evening of ceremonial ritual, powerful cultural performance, storytelling & hangi feasting. Share in the Powhiri, our ancient ceremony of welcome before entering our pre-European Maori Village nestled within a native Tawa Forest. The village comes alive with sights, sounds & activity of days gone by including haka, poi, tattooing, weaving, carving and arts of warrior training. This was one of my best days on my tour. I have done this place three time just because I enjoyed it so much and took friends and family over to experience their Aroha for who and what they are. From the start to finish it was money well spend, food great entertainment -dance awesome and the village experience very... More

Fantastic night. Starting with our entertaining bus driver, to the spectacular performances, and amazing meal at the end. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the Maori culture, and get a great feed too.

We were collected from our hotel but a bright tour driver who was friendly and helpful. We arrived at the event and we would greeted with a friendly welcome from the start of the performance. At the place you are escorted to different items of interest from the maori history, which was interesting and enough time. You have time to... More

We had a brilliant time at Tamaki last year. The village is beautiful and the food bloody tasty! The driver of our bus was fantastic too, I actually think our highlight was the journey back! Only downside was that someone turned up 25 minutes early to pick us up from the hotel - I was in the shower!!!

Excellent evening learning a tiny bit about Maori culture although on a cool evening a sweater is a must! It was 35F and very chilly outside so we spent a lot of time near the ca fires

Look all I can say is that the village was exceptional and great value for money, the food was plentiful and Delicious. Our driver Dennis the menace was an absolute hoot.

Prompt collection from the hotel. Lots of opportunity to take in aspects of Maori culture in fairly genuine surroundings. In winter, take plenty of warm clothing. Much of the experience is outdoors. The performance was not the best I have seen and the costumes of hessian dresses on the none-too-svelte maidens was far less than authentic. It is the meal... More

The hangi meal (potato, sweet potato, carrot, lamb, chicken) is delicous. The meat is very tender and spices are great. The whole experience is very interesting culturally and there is lots to learn about the maori.

My husband and I traveled here in June for an evening show and we were not dissapointed. Very friendly staff who are so informative of the Mauri Culture. If you are going to see a cultural show while in New Zealand, it should be this one!
