Although not in the 'top ten' of golf courses in NZ, we enjoyed the course very much. As a 12 handicapper I found it represented a fair challenge. The greens are excellent and a good number of bunkers and trees all added to the need for some careful thought on many holes. Recommended

My wife and I played the Rotorua Golf Course on the perfect summer's day. Friendly staff, well kept course, good rental equipment, spectacular scenery and nice cold beers waiting for us at the 19th hole. A little bit expensive given we were renting clubs as well but absolutely worth it.

Our group of three played this course mid afternoon and as it was still very hot decided to use carts. While the course is very pretty with well maintained fairways, they are extremely bumpy. The course overall is well presented and signposted (good for visitors). We had two extremely slow groups in front of us, so it was a long... More

Golf on 30 October on trip from Australia. A strong challenge when played from the back blue markers, ladies almost as long on some holes from yellow markers. Fairways have many undulations and small mounds to make shots interesting. Greens very good and true. Suggest you walk as not hilly and carts are very bumpy. Pro shop good and staff... More

You could be forgiven for thinking you were on a parkland course for the first few holes, rolling undulating fairways and some large rolling quick greens. The course plays that you have to be accurate, placement on many holes is a key. Streams run through the middle of the course and geothermal activity, mud pools and lakes become much of... More

Played 18 holes on a Friday morning. The shop staff were friendly and we hired a cart. The course is of a good standard with some challenging holes. My wife and I partnered up with a local couple towards the end of the round and we went to lunch with them in the clubhouse. Food was good quality and service... More

Played here with 5 mates during the RWC. We were a little early for the bar and a local lady heard our Australian accents. After chatting about her previous life running a pub in Queensland we went to tee off, and she told us to give her a wave when we were on the 5th. "The house with the New... More

I played 18 holes on a Monday morning and had to rent a full set of clubs and a golf cart. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It's a challenging course that will test your accuracy. There are fantastic views and plenty of geothermal activity and I enjoyed my round on a sunny Rotorua morning.

This is one of my favourite club courses in NZ. Where else do you get to play over and around thermal activity while enjoying a well laid out course. The 14th to 17th holes is not only a true test of golf, but throw in the thermal lakes and it makes for a grand final few holes to challenge the... More
