Amazing views, great staff & professional outfit, thank you Lucy. Great ride on TK & what a fantastic way to see this part of New Zealand! Impressed with the level of care with the horses, I appreciate the bitless bridle approach & gentle way that horses treated. I thought the ride catered for the different levels of experience well, I... More

My friend and I both did the 'Knoll' trek, which is 2 hours long. The ride is varied and interesting, going uphill to see spectacular views of the lakes and Mt Tarawera. Once up the top, we were able to take photos and our guide, Lena, offered to take photos of us together and she also took photos on her... More

Horse trekking is always great but if you want the best views in the North Island, I doubt anything comes remotely close to this. We did the 2 hour trek, having phoned in the am to pre book. Horses are clearly well cared for, and they will allow you to go as fast or slow as you want. Would /probably... More

the half hour trek was abit boring as we spent most of the ride riding down the side of the road. Not really worth it. First time riding and was abit dissappointed. My friends all thought the same.

I am sorry you found your half hour first riding experience a bit boring. Riding down the side of the road is an avenue of magnificent 70 year old Plain trees with sheep in the paddock along side. There is not a huge amount of distance you can cover in half an hour and we'd love you to come back... More

I sure had one of the best rides in my entire life! The team was great and made sure everyone enjoyed their time. Despite being the only experienced rider (when we leave out the guides) I still could trot and canter without risking the beginners. The horses were absolutely amazing, very well behaved and there truly was one horse for... More

We loved this! Lucy and her team were awesome. I have not got too much experience with horses and it was all good, Hunter did all the work. I was unprepared for the views at the top, what a great way to take it all in. Totally worth the money. Fair warning - a few days on and my bum... More

We enjoyed a beautiful longer than expected horse trek through forest and farmland, chatted about the lifetstyle and horses, was enthralled at the views across the lake and even experienced an unplanned diversion around sheep hearding by a local farmer. Couldn't think of a better way to spend the afternoon!

It's my first time riding a horse. Was very nervous but Alfie, my gentle but playful horse, made my 1 1/2 hours ride worthwhile. The owner, Lucy, has great talent in handling the horses. Same with all other handlers.. the route around the huge farm and Lake Okareka and others are magnificent! I would be back to meet my love,... More

This was the best thing we did in Rotorua, if not in New Zealand. This place is not only cheaper than most other treks in New Zealand (especially around Queenstown), but also better. Scenery is stunning. Owners are incredibly friendly. They treat the horses so well, and it is obvious in how well mannered they are. If you have ridden... More

I grew up with horses and wanted to get back in the saddle on my vacation. My boyfriend and I had a great experience. All the horses are healthy and well-kept, something you don't find at a lot of trekking barns in the US. This was my boyfriend's second time ever riding, but he felt totally comfortable and in good... More
