Ulla and Carolina were great hosts as we rode the two beautiful horses, Peanut and Alfie, both with fantastic temperaments. Absolutely stunning views, over the lake on a glorious day. Despite the both of us only having riden a horse once before, some years prior, we were comfortable enough to go on a bit of a canter, great fun would... More

Our family took this tour and were amazed by the views. Families need not worry as these are incredible horses; safety was never a concern. The guides were engaging and very nice to our kids ages 10 and 12. We took the hour and half ride up to view the lakes. So worth it. Highly recommend for even the most... More

I really enjoyed my first ever horse ride here. It was beautiful and such good fun. Lucy is such a welcoming person and so are the ladies working with her!

Greatly enjoyed our two hour ride. The weather was beautiful and the views priceless. I'm an experienced rider, my husband is a complete beginner and my daughter is in between but rather timid. We all loved our horses and they were all healthy and well looked after. My daughter had Gypsy aka "the mobile armchair," and she lived up to... More

Easily the highlight of my stay in Rotorua! It was my first time riding a horse and going for a 2 hour trek was bit of a challenge but amazing views looking down the lakes made the experience so special. Thanks to 2 very nice guides, Aleisa and Jana, and beautiful horses, it has become the "ride of my life"... More

I rode a few times here, the horses are all really nice and the staff very welcoming. On the hour and a half and two hours treks you get to see unique views on both lake Okareka and Tarawera. I definitely recommend to anyone, both beginners and experienced riders have a lot of fun!

I left my camera in the saddle bag after the ride and Lucy kindly express shipped it to an address for me in an effort to get it on time to me before I left for Canada. Such service is well beyond the call of duty. Thank you Horse Trekking Lake Okareka.

Our family stayed on the property where this Trekking Outfit is located. We were 8 with 4 children, some of whom were a little wary. The guides were perfect for them and the adults, too.Just wonderful.
