Easily the highlight of my stay in Rotorua! It was my first time riding a horse and going for a 2 hour trek was bit of a challenge but amazing views looking down the lakes made the experience so special. Thanks to 2 very nice guides, Aleisa and Jana, and beautiful horses, it has become the "ride of my life"... More

I rode a few times here, the horses are all really nice and the staff very welcoming. On the hour and a half and two hours treks you get to see unique views on both lake Okareka and Tarawera. I definitely recommend to anyone, both beginners and experienced riders have a lot of fun!

I left my camera in the saddle bag after the ride and Lucy kindly express shipped it to an address for me in an effort to get it on time to me before I left for Canada. Such service is well beyond the call of duty. Thank you Horse Trekking Lake Okareka.

Our family stayed on the property where this Trekking Outfit is located. We were 8 with 4 children, some of whom were a little wary. The guides were perfect for them and the adults, too.Just wonderful.

This was easily the highlight of my stay in Rotorua, had a lovely time on Dex , enjoyed a couple of canters once up in the hills before coming out into the amazing views of the lakes. Got some great photos and some lasting memories to go with them. The horses were sensible and our guides were knowledgable and experienced.

Just been for a lovely trek on a horse called Nico. Stunning views of lakes Okareka and Tarawera. Some beginners in our group but all managed a trot and canter. Lovely horses and friendly guides I definitely recommend this.

Lucy has kept all her horses clean and tidy. The horses are so beautiful. Our 1.5 hours bush trek took us through magnificent views. The lakes, the bush, the mountains and the sheep! Very pleasant. Unfortunately, we didn't have any chance to run a bit as many in our group are total beginners. However, Lucy told me if we mentioned... More

I went horse trekking with 2 friends and 11 other people on the 8th Feb. We had a great time, with the guides being entertaining and fun. Saw a part of Rotorua we would never have seen from a car. Thanks a lot! Definitely recommend

We brought a group including six absolute beginner adults for a 1.5 hour trek. I was impressed with the horses which were super quiet, well shod and in excellent condition. The staff were very friendly and patient. The ride itself was a good mix of native bush and farmland, with some great views of the lakes - the steep climb... More
