Good fun and beautiful views from Lake Okareka through to a glimpse of Lake Tarawera. My friend and I took our two sons, aged 10 and 15. The horses and guides were great and it was beautiful going up through the bush and over the farm land. It was relaxing and kind of exciting - because I'm an inexperienced rider.... More

We just did the 1hr horse trekking ride with our young family, 8 and 10yr old. My son was very scared initially of getting on the horse, this is the first time my city family had seen a horse close up. The fear soon went away and the kids loved it. The horses were great and so were the people.... More

We had an amazing opportunity to do a 2hour trek on the Longford farm. I was very impressed by the happiness and health of the horses and how was is offered after a big uphill trek. Instructions were given when needed (for instance riding uphill and downhill, getting on and off). Both Lucy and Kara had a wealth of knowledge... More

Fantastic time horse trekking uphill through native NZ bush, fantails and ponga trees, leading onto rolling green farmlands. What a view from the ridge!! Both me and my partner had never really ridden a horse before, we came a little unprepared but were accommodated with wax riding coats, black helmets and chaps etc which made for awesome photos!!! Staff were... More

We had a lovely 2 hour trek through beautiful scenery and wonderful New Zealand bush and farmland. The horses were friendly and happy which made the experience even more enjoyable. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather but I am positive that the experience would have been great in any weather. I was provided with... More

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our ride on Alfie and Nico. The team was very organized and calm and we felt very comfortable as novice riders. We will be back again for a longer ride on our next visit. Beautiful location with well cared for and well trained horses.

Our daughter Stella is horse mad so trekking was top of her list when we went to Rotorua. Stella went on a 2 hour trek and had a great time. Lucy and her guides set her up with a horse to suit her riding level, and the gear she needed for the weather on the day. Lucy made sure she... More

This trek was fantastic! Once you drive in the gorgeous gates you are welcomed by a gorgeous fluffy little pooch garding the gate who loves cuddles almost as much as his little winter coat. Pulling in the view takes your breath, the mountains, rolling meadows and lush lush bush surrounding you. The ladies are tacking up the horses and after... More

This is such a beautiful trek with amazing views and horses. I had Peanut for the 3 hour trek and he was definitely Perfect as described. I'm an experienced rider but had a bad experience during a different trek a few years ago and lost confidence. These horses completely restored my confidence. They all get along well and respond to... More
