Plenty of parking, a good variety of trails to follow of varying degrees of difficulty. Tranquil, stunning, easy walking if you want it. Listen to the birds - magical.

If you enjoy walking then Redwoods is a good place to come. There is plenty of parking and there is no entry charge. In the Information Centre is a model outlining the different routes you can take. We only had time to do the 5km track. The paths were well defined and colour-coding was used to help with route-finding. The... More

Lush walk through the forest and ace views from the look out points at the top. Did the 2 hour walk comfortably but some steep inclines in places for short time. Free car park at the beginning which has an information centre and toilets etc. Great way to spend a free afternoon!

Beautiful forest - such majestic trees! Nice to have something to do that's free & is so stunning. You can just go for a walk or ride your bike.

We visited this forest one morning when we wanted to find a nice area for some light hiking and some beautiful views, and we found both of these in the Whakarewarewa Forest. We ended up walking along the Blue-Green Lakes trail (a circuit of about 5.5 km). Before this hike, there is a lookout post nearby worth checking out. Once... More

We took a 2 hour walk through the Redwood Forest and surrounding land. Track was well laid out and posted with a colour code. Great scenery and walk which included some climbs, but not difficult at all. Meet numerous people also doing the walks in the park and excellent free facility. Toilets at the information Centre were clean and tidy.

We never had time to do a long walk or hike through the forest but enjoyed a short walk one evening. This is a free attraction and we would have liked to spend longer. New Zealand has many walks and a great place for healthy outdoor activities.

We spent about 2 hours here and took the quarry track. It was a nice walk with about 15 minutes of strenuous climbing. If I lived near here I would love to do this for exercise. As a tourist just taking photos I think you can see the most beautiful areas on the shortest walk in about 30 minutes. It's... More

Amazing red tree, a must see place you don't want to miss it. We spend half a day there, wear proper shoes and bring insect repellent. Nice long walk and the kids enjoy the track. Good for bike riding and jogging.

Amazing redwoods forest with fresh air, walk into it, I felt that I was refreshing my inner body, and very peaceful.
