A very enjoyable place to walk, with lots of interest and some stunning views, a wonderful oasis of calm and solitude. We did the Quarry Walk, occasionally strenuous but ultimately very rewarding.

A lovely place to take a walk through some stunning red wood forest. There's all sorts to do here for walkers to hikers to mountain bikers. The longest walk is around 3 hours or so and allows you to take in some of the stunning vistas across Lake Rotorua. Highly recommended for a nice sunny afternoon out.

Walking through cool tall redwoods is quite different from the thermal pools and volcanic lakes of the Rotorua region. It is free, and well worth the time to experience diversity of growing conditions...even though mostly introduced species.

Located withi a few hundred yards of downtown Rotorua, this forrest was both a pleasant surprise and the occasion for a relaxing and peaceful walk amongst some of the largest trees you will ever see. The degree of difficulty of 6 or 7 different walks and the duration thereof is well indicated. My wife and I did a one hour... More

We went for a slow stroll along the easy/short track (I'm not very fit) and I found the whole experience really peaceful and calming. After running around looking at geysers and mudpools, luging down hills and locating things to do and places to eat, it is nice to slow it all down and take a stroll through the cool forest.

This was the highlight of our trip ot NZ so far. The combination of majestic redwoods and local fauna is incredible. I kept expecting to see the underbrush rustling as a raptor predator rushed by. There are several levels of trails so everyone can enjoy.

It is quite a few years since I last wandered through this spectacular forest. It has developed much further with more planting over a wider area. This was a must do easy one hour walk each day for us while we were in Rotorua. It was a great way to start the day with sun filtering through the Redwoods, shining... More
