My birthday took the husband to see the machines that he's used over the years. Didn't realise there were so many D types of dozer. Great to understand the importance of these machines in the development of NZ had not really appreciated their significance before visiting. Would have liked to see one working and the hubby in the seat, but... More

My three year old son thought he was in heaven looking at all the old machinery.

The history and links to the US. It was much more than we expected, especially taking my in-laws there. We enjoyed the layout and the interesting displays.

We had lots of fun on our visit here. Enjoyed checking out all the machinery and watching the videos. A great place to check out if you are into Cats.

I decided to visit this museum because it was on the list of stops for the hop-on/hop-off bus. But I'm not really into earth movers, so it was only mildly interesting. They said it would take a good hour to go through it, but I was finished in 30 minutes.

This place has an amazing collection of very old equipment, some of which has been restored and other which are exactly as they wer found with dirt still on the tracks. There's a lot of history, stories, photos, videos and other artifacts here as well. The only thing I could fault them on was price, which was 20NZD per adult.

For something different the world’s first display of historical Caterpillar earthmoving equipment. Not to everyone’s taste, but great to see old Caterpillar equipment. I was here for the first time 11 Jan 2012, and I will be going back. Along with the old equipment there is also archival footage which plays continuously in 4 separate areas that you can sit... My husband loved it as he is in the machine industry. The kids loved it as they could play on some of the machines.
