Brilliant place to spend a few hours. I think our guides name was Paul and he was excellent. The 'surprise' you get from the boiling water is a good added touch. Also kiwi house is great.

Loved seeing the kiwi, mouri art centres, hot geysers and mud pools. Excellent day. Definitely go on a tour and pay the extra 10 to see the cultural show....well worth it

A fantastic cultural experience and a great way to learn more about the history of the Maori people. Plus, the food was SO good!

Most large group tours leave you wanting more but this one delivers a punch! The Maori respect for their tourist guests is both refreshing and exciting at every turn. Unlike many mass tourist destinations, this one does not cut corners to quickly rotate us through. The Maori staff is welcoming, warm and makes you appreciate the rich cultural experience allowing... A great introduction to Maori culture with story telling, dancing and singing. It was amazing to see how the traditional musical instruments were skilfully used. I tried to hide when they asked for volunteers to do the haka but all of the adult males were personally ushered up to the stage and, for me, learning and performing the haka were... More

Took a ride in a bus with Dennis 'the menace who doesn't play tennis' to a magical village where we learned how to haka and hongi. Had a wonderful meal, learned a bit about Maori heritage and met a lot of very proud , passionate people. It was freezing cold but the food was hot and the dining hall very... More

The night we visited there was only a small crowd (six tables - we had eight at our table). After an introduction & traditional greeting we got to eat. Our meal was great - plenty of food & it all tasted nice. Our hot food was hot - not fresh out of the oven hot but we were happy with... More

A novel introduction to Maori history with the performing cast moving from stand to stand and treating visitors to a variety of games played by the Maoris and a Haka lesson. The disappointing part of the evening was the meal . I can only but echo others comments on the poor quality of hot food gone cold. Nonetheless an interesting... More

a great experience, and we are very glad we went. Good hot and cold buffet, although the meats not cooked in the hangi were better than the ones that were. A great venison stew. the quality of the show surprised us, paricularly the quality of some of the singers.Very interactive, and the guys are encouraged to learn a bit of... More

We are both big 'Hangi' fans & were apprehensive when we were dropped off at the show venue & saw the meat all perfectly carved, with platters of vegetables, all laid out on the table uncovered, just after 6pm and knew that we weren't dining until 7pm. As expected everything was stone cold and the meat was as tough as... More
