The riverjet thermal safari starts off on the Waikato river and leads upto the Orakei Korako Geothermal Park. Lemme warn you guys this isn't quite as adventurous as the Shotover Jet down at Queenstown. There are plenty of sights to see during the 30min journey around including volcanic mountain formations, caves, pine forests and beautiful landscapes. Our guide Simon kept... More

Our family was 8 people, 3 generations, on an adventure up the Waikato River for over 30 mins. The scenery is spectacular, our driver/skipper Adam was most informative about the history, flora and fauna and safety was paramount. This is a well recommended trip to Orakei Korako, the thermal valley, accessed by a little ferry across the river from a... More

We were the only people booked on the day we went so ended up with a private trip! The trip to Orakei Korako geothermal park was very pretty and our driver was an interesting guide. The geothermal area was utterly fascinating and there is an excellent system of walkways so that you can get as close as possible to the... More

This is a amazing combination of speed, thrills and beautiful scenery along the Waikato river. This has to be a must do trip if you are in the Taupo area. The jetboat is amazing and the guides at Riverjet NZ (we had Adam) are informative and interesting. The Waikato river itself is slow and gentle due to the dams that... More

This was one of the highlights of our NZ trip. Brilliant day out, slower ride up the river with some entertaining commentary (& great tiki bird calling skills!) and then a lazy stroll through the thermal park, followed by an adrenalin filled sprint back to base. Definitely give it a go next time you're in the area :)

Another beautiful in Taupo and a spectacular way to see the mighty Waikato River. Adam (the driver) was very knowledgeable and a great fun guide, his "Tui" Bird call even got a reply from some native Tui's ! An excellent way to spend an afternoon and great value for money. Well done to the team at NZ Riverjet, I will... More

Hubby and I along with our teenage son took the thermal safari today. Adam was our tour guide and was absolutely outstanding. His knowledge of the area and his ability to pass it on in an informative and interesting way was fantastic. Adam went out of his way to ensure everyone was happy during the 2.5 hour trip. The walk... More
