These falls are near to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and we just took a short drive to them. They’re wide, in the shape of a horseshoe but there’s not a particularly high drop and when we visited it was only the centre section which had water flowing. We were able to easily walk across the rocks which at other times... More

Easy to find and park, but watch out for the closing time as we did see someone get locked in! Nice walk to the falls which are worth seeing as a way of stretching legs whilst travelling.

The Falls are easily accessible to all - not a great physical challenge to get to them which, for the less able, is a great plus point. But given where they are it is never going to be overrun with visitors, so it retains the peace and beauty that make all the difference to your enjoyment of natural wonders. As... More

It was good that Haruru Falls is so close to Paihia and Waitangi and a quick walk from parking, because it's not very impressive, Our ecological daughter exclaimed 'erosion!' at the muddiness of the water over the low falls, Also the longer walking trail was closed due to bad winter storms which Northland had experienced.

The water was quite muddy as there had been some bad weather but we got some great pictures of a rainbow coming up out of the falls

The waterfall's themselves are pretty awesome to look at, and if you go to the treaty grounds its only a short pleasant drive to go and have a look. I suppose thats its disadvantage - its just too close. There is no mystic or challenge to get there and there is a lot of development close by. Sounds strange but... More

A friend of mine said awesome things about this place but unfortunately, my girlfriend and I didn't enjoy it as much as we thought we would. More die to the fact that the walking trail from the Treaty Grounds was shut due to the flooding that has run rampart on the North. So we drove to the falls. It just... More

We arrived at Haruru Falls during the big storm in the Far North. The falls were amazing, they were raging and something we had never seen before.

Had a look after the storms and the power matched Huka Falls but could get much closer (quite dangerous though). It seems normally it is quite tranquil but it turns into a beast after a bit of rain.
