Nice for a quick visit but not as stunning as many other falls on the way to paihia. Also said it was lit at night but it wasn't on the night e went back to visit. Easy access to visit if you can't walk long distances though so still worth a visit.

We were greeted by a flock of chickens in the parking area. Walked down to the falls to take pics and on return the chickens come running again--- quite humorous!

The Haruru Falls are on the list of tourist sites for visits to the Bay of Islands. They can be found a few kilometres from Paihia. On approaching the site you hear then before you see them. They form a horseshoe shape and are quite impressive - not on the same scale as Vocoria or Niagra but nevertheless worth a... More

Simply beautiful place to visit. You can just sit and watch, kayak to the fall, have a picnic nearby and enjoy the view. Simply a lovely place to be.

The falls are pretty and it is a great spot for a picnic. A good walk for the keen walkers or you can also drive there.

The Falls are very spectacular. The camp grounds are very nice and friendly. Good place to stay when the Bay of Islands Country Rock Festival is on.

A lovely quiet spot with nice views across the water. You can drive off the main northern highway- sign posted - or walk from Waitangi. I haven't done the walk-5 kms each way.

The best thing by seeing the waterfalls is the way to get there! You get along a thermal river (and should take a bath there!) and along a beautiful landscape.

This is a must see, though the falls on itself is not that spectacular, I have seen better ones. Though the walk along the mangroves from the Waitangi visitors centre via golf course is great if you like walks.

As there had been a lot of rain the falls we're pretty spectacular. There were also stray chickens welcoming you.
