A lovely walk

From Paihia it is about a 15 km easy walk to the falls. You walk along the sea front towards the treaty grounds and then it is sign posted. The path is mostly surfaced, there are... read more

The falls are the climax of a stunning walk through the mangrove swamps - easy walking some on boardwalks. Listening to and trying to spot the snapping shrimp is fascinating and many birds can be spotted along the riverbank.

The falls were a little lame. But the walk to get there was great. We went the wrong way along a hwy and entred the falls from up stream Then took the rainforest walk back. It was very good. I recommend. Be prepared to walk about 3hrs +

From Paihia it is about a 15 km easy walk to the falls. You walk along the sea front towards the treaty grounds and then it is sign posted. The path is mostly surfaced, there are a few steps, but it also takes you on raised decking through the mangrove forest. The falls themselves are pleasant, but not spectacular but... More

You can enjoy a great walk nearby. Close to Paihia, Kerikeri and Waitangi. Easy to find, just a few minutes walk from the road. No dog allowed because of kiwis in the area.

Great little stop off on our drive from Kerikeri. Easy to walk around and great for photos. Nice intro to New Zealand.

Maybe in the winter or when the river levels are higher this might be more impressive. Scummy brown goo and froth floating in the water which made it look very unappealing. Still the sounds of rushing water and location were nice. I wouldnt recommend specifically going out of your way to see this.

Takes around an hour and a half of you're leisurely walking, great views and loads of photo opportunities. Fairly easy walk

We were a bit tired from our travels and it was a fairly miserable day. We stopped here on our way back to the hotel and it was not super impressive, but the sound of the rushing water was pretty cool. I don't think I'd be in a rush to come back, but I'm sure it's more fun on a... More

Great view. Loved it. Got to sit near the Falls and take lifetime photos. A popular spot for all the tourist and first timers.

It's a waterfall, just as you would imagine. I think it would be nicer viewing from a tour on the water than from the top.
