Everyone in town was talking about the Haruru falls and how we had to go there, so we did. While they were ok, I was expecting something a lot bigger. The falls themselves are only about 1-1 1/2 metres high, but about 10 metres across. We were there after a lot of rain so there was a fair amount of... More

Recommend taking the 1.5 hour walk from outside Waitangi treat y grounds to the falls. It generally follows the path of the Waitangi river. The track is well formed and easy walking. Special features are the boardwalk through the middle of the mangrove, high concentration of Tuis in the tops of the Kowhai trees and the nesting colony of shags... More

Nice waterfall. Good to visit in the summer time. Can flood during rainy season and become dangerous but exciting.

If you have a few extra minutes, it's worth stopping by but you don't need to spend a lot of time but it is so close to Longhouse B & B

We certainly picked the right time of year to view this spectacular sight. The water was at full throttle and the short walk to the top of it was very gentle and easy. A must to see when visiting Paihia.

We visit Haruru Falls because we have one hour to kill. We think that it might be a good idea to drive there. It is very near to the parking lot. However, you can also park nearby the treaty gound and walk there as well. It is a huge falls from high up. It would be good visit if you... More

Beautiful falls just out of Paihia, recommended to visit, easy to reach by road but the falls are surrounded by forest.

We did the Falls and the Treaty House back to back as they are not very far from each other. This is nature at its best.
