Loved this area lots of shopping, seats to just have lunch & relax on. Information centre also. Also lots of beautiful views at every angle.

Wow, the new bar and restaurant on the front was a perfect way to top off our 4 hour drive up to Paihia! Highly recommend the fish and chips and any of the craft beers or wine.

We arrived at Paihia at the Bay of Islands. It reminded me of our local coastal town of Penguin but a lot busier--(there were 3000 visitors in town off our Cruise Ship) Helicopter flights taking off, vintage cars doing tours, ferries leaving for Russell and on to the Hole in the Rock. The weather was fine, the people friendly,so much... More

Paihia Harbour is the central point and access to the Bay of Islands. We enjoyed a day our in the Bay of Islands on the Cream of the Islands Boat, which was wonderful

We enjoyed taking a cruise around the Bay of Islands, and going through the hole in the rock. Lots of fun on that ship.

A lovely little town, with excellent facilities catering for travellers. Clean and tidy. Volunteers do a great job to manage traffic, on cruise ship days, when there is also a local market selling local wares. Easy to get to both Russell & Waitangi from here, on coach, foot or ferry.

We had just two nights in Paihia at Morepork B&B ( see seperate review). We did the Bay of Islands boat cruise, went to Russell, & wandered around the village. Had Dinner at the restaurant on the pier. Weather was a bit iffy, so we reckon Paihia in lovely sunshine would be fabulous. We will certainly visit again.

Kayak to Russell, you'll be glad you did. Paihia is a lovely place, wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful weather gave us the best time here. Nothing about it was not nice. Great time of year to go. Hot in the sun and great temperature at night to sleep

This is a really beautiful harbour with boats of every description to view. Some are moored and others are taking visitors on the numerous trips available in the area. There is always something of interest to view.
