We were lucky to be taking this tour in the quieter months. This meant that we got to do an island stop, see dolphins and go through the hole in the rock. It was a great way to see the bay of islands. Very comfortable. One of our group was swimming with the dolphins. Unfortunately each time she got near... More

I had taken a competing cruise (the loud, fast boat) when I was here previously by myself, but decided to give this cruise a try when I returned with my family. We were hoping to swim with dolphins, but everyone was very clear that swimming depended not only on seeing dolphins but on regulations meant to safeguard their welfare. We... More

A great 4 hour cruise. Spent time with dolphins playing and leaping out of the water very close to the boat. Cruised close to various islands and thought hole in rock. Had an hour on Urupukapuka island. Overall a magical morning. Friendly crew and great views from the boat. More

We had already seen/been to the Hole in the Rock and so chose to go on just the Dolphin Discovery. Ten minutes out we were in the middle of a pod of 60; they kept close for 20-30 minutes. Fabulous. Went looking for a pod of 4 males (not allowed to swim with pods with babies and juveniles) but didn't... More

I can't rave enough about our day with Dolphin Discoveries. We had only just reversed the boat out of the wharf when we first saw dolphins and they followed us for what seemed ages, flipping, wake surfing etc. The boat was well appointed with upstairs, downstairs, indoor and outdoor seating. All sides of the boat had a good view at... More

The day started off with blue skies and that was the way it stayed, the boat was spotlessly clean and the crew very obliging and helpful yet safety orientated. We had an extremely pleasant day with the boat only half full, everybody appeared to enjoy themselves. Take the kids and have a great time with the net on the side... More

Dolphin discovery at Bay of Island was nice, we saw dolphins just after 20 minutes' sail. However, we did not have same luck while attending dolphin &whale safari around Hauraki Golf at Auckland. We have been there 3 times, no dolphin at all! Although we were given complimentary voucher each time as a Guarantee seeing dolphins, it's not a happy... More

Do take a boat trip around the ‘Bay of Island’, see the dolphins, and go thro the ‘hole in the rock’. We found this really fascinating with beautiful scenery. The dolphins were amazing. If the weather and sea permits then going thro the hole is terrific. We stopped off at Russell Island on the way back, which was interesting, but... More
