Picked up from our motel at 7.20 am for the start of an 11 hour trip. Our driver gave a good commentary and our first stop was the Putekai forest. The drive along the beach had the waves coming in on our left. After driving up a stream we reached a giant sand dune. Watching the sandboarding was brilliant. Continued... More

We recently went on the awesome tour to Cape Reinga, including the sand surfing, 90 mile beach trip (complete with Pipi collecting) and Mangonui fish and chip excursion. The whole experience was great. Booking was made easy by Doris at the Russell office, our driver Robbie was friendly, capable and informative and we had the added value of Hui as... More

We left for Cape Reinga on a rainy winter morning. The guide was very informative and for a change to most tours nice to listen to. As the bus makes it way up to the cape you first get to stop for the a forest walk with native Kauri trees. Later on there is a approx. 30 min stop for... More

The advertisement seems to show that the bus in driving in the sea when in fact it is actually driving on the beach. After a while the drive was monotonous as the scenery is basically the waves and the beach. We stopped by the sand dunes where the more adventurous can slide down the dunes. The lunch was average .... More

I did this trip 13 years ago and booked it again as my husband hadn't been up north. Several trips seemed to amalgamated together and the coach came in the Great Sights livery, but was the tour we had expected. I enjoyed it all those years ago, though this time seemed even better! We bought food/coffee at the various stops... More

This was a fantastic tour!! Our driver, Chris, was brilliant. From the morning pick up right through to the end of the day he was full of energy and made a real effort to make everyone feel welcome. (A huge thank you to him!) In one day we took a ride along the beautiful 90 mile beach, went sand boarding... More

It is a long day (640 miles round trip), but a lot gets covered. We got picked up at 7 a.m. at a motel down the hill from where we stayed and returned there at the end of the day. Bus seats felt comfortable, but as the 10 hour trip went on, they gradually got more and more uncomfortable. Air... More

A packed day that manages to get you a better understanding on Northland New Zealand. You will get beutiful land and sea views, a clan and very long "90 miles" beach (even if it is less than 90 miles :-)), an adventure by gliding on a board down on sand-dunes (the up-track is significantly harder than the dowb ride), a... I've been looking forward to this trip and it was amazing in every way! First of all. Our tour guide Jackie was the coolest! Jackie: thank you for unforgettable freaking awesome day! I dare to say, this day wouln't be the same without you! She was friendly, entertaining (I loved her silly spontaneous comments), energetic and just relaxed. And the... More
