The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the wine was great as was the view. We purchased a couple of bottles the only disappointment was they we couldn't take more wine home with us!
We stopped here on the way into Napier, having read that they do a great Verdelho. We were not disappointed, and thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting. The young lady who was taking us through the tasting was very friendly and helpful, and made it a great experience.
this would probably the most scenic winery I have been too. We bought 2 bottles of wine, the hostess was very friendly - the view was just superb - wineyards stretched out all around and post them you could see the sea. beautiful frame!!
We were delighted with our platinum hair lady guide. Esk Valley Winery is a handsome building, a great tasting room, and some great wines. This visit deserves 60 - 90 minutes. The manager holds great knowledge, and explains better than any Napa or Sonoma guide we have experienced. Purchased several bottles to go!
Although several times during our tour of New Zealand we had the opportunity to taste red and white wines of this estate in restaurants, the visit there showed us that they also make excellent rosé! Friendly welcome, competent advice. We surely bought a few bottles of their wine.
I loved Esk Valley Winery because the hostess was so wonderful taking the time to talk to you and making you feel very welcome. Ok, it was monday morning 10.30 am and not a lot of people where there but they were at least open and as I said before very happy to see us. The late pick chenin blanc... More
This was the first winery we came to going into Napier. Did a tasting and did buy a bottle of the Pinot Gris. Pretty garden in front with lovely smells of the roses. Could see Hawks Bay in the distance.
Had a great time in the tasting room. Very friendly staff and good wine. We are big red wine drinkers and live in California and we were very pleased with our flight of Esk Valley wines. As a red wine drinker I never thought I would say this....try the Rose...Seriously.
I loved this wine tour. The winemaker Gordon took us through all the wines and showed us the cellars. He is so passionate about winemaking and it shows in the quality. 2012 favourites: verdelho, the rose and the merlot cabernet malbec blend. A-mazing!
