Not spectacular, but better than Kelly Tarltons and cheaper! Kiwis were by far the coolest part of this place, gave us a cool up close look at them.

We live in Hawkes Bay and my son really wanted to go to the aquarium, it cost $40 for 1 adult and 2 children, it didn't take long to do the round and we were out.....I thought it was over priced to be honest.

With areas dedicated NZ Dinosaurs, Kiwis, Penguins, Reptiles, Amphibians and Fish - this aquarium presents a more comprehensive story of New Zealand...skewed to inquisitive minds. It is inviting, interactive and flows smoothly from one zone to another. The kids we saw there were encouraged to touch the exhibits and actually sit on some of the displays. The children were all... Well laid out. Feeding time is great if you keep going round on the walkway. The scuba diver has Rays eating from his hand and the fish just mob him. Great views of the sharks. Penguin feeding time a bit of a "zoo" but hang on afterwards and the more reluctant Penguins come out to play.

Being locals, we have the kid multi pass. This is great value for money, as this is a regular, cold, wet day activity. The preschooler loves it, especially feeding time with the penguins and the early dive show. As a one off place to visit it is a tad expensive for what is on offer. A nice way to spend... More

This is a well set out aquarium. It's not the biggest or most exciting we have been to, but well worth a visit, especially if it's a wet day. Great to see Kiwi's anywhere and yes, they have the at this aquarium.

I do hope this place has an important scientific function as it did not comprehensive with the likes of Kelly Tarleton's. It's good and well worth a visit. There cannot be many aquariums where the highlight of your visit is watching two kiwi copulating.
