Even on a wet day in January, there were plenty of tourists doing the wine tastings. Inevitably, at such a popular attraction, such tastings can be rather limited and formula-driven. This is quite under-whelming, for a genuine, curious wine-lover, who might want to sample a particular wine. The wines we were offered were well-made and interesting, albeit perhaps a bit... More

A beautiful location for a wedding, including both service and reception. Lovely wines, beautiful food, awesome views and attentive staff. The day was perfect - thanks to a great team at the Mission.

We had a large group - booked in the tour, tasting and lunch. Very welcoming staff, catered very well to group. Let us sit down at one of the old tables to do our tasting. Wines were favourites of all the wineries we visited that day. Lunch was delicious, good selection of drinks other than wine. Fantastic G&T! Great experience,... More

For $5, we got to test (basically a full glass) 8 different types of wine and came home with 2 glasses to commemorate our visit to this old and established vineyard. The staff is friendly and inviting, allowing us to wander as we please and enjoy ourselves. The winery is beautiful. It is bigger than many that we went to... More

I just loved the surroundings the vines, food, and hospitality. I found the staff more than helpful when organising our wedding they were so knowledable and full of options and phone numbers and people it was incredible. The actual main meals were out of this world, we had a sit down meal where the waiters were on the ball, and... More

Went there as part of a group winery visit and enjoyed the lovely wines on offer, especially enjoyed the sparkling wines and the "sticky sweet" desert wines. The ambiance was also better here than in many other estate wineries in the area. Highly recommended - would re-visit and dine in their fine restaurant next time in New Zealand.

Robert of "village shuttle" took us to (and from) the restaurant from Napier which made an enjoyable start to the evening. Both food and wine were enjoyable and service was equally as good but it was difficult to shake off the feeling that this was a destination restaurant i.e. somewhere to tick off the list. Not sure we would go... More

Booked Sunday lunch from the UK. It all worked well, we had a taxi from town so that we could enjoy the wine. The place is beautiful, we sat outside with a guitar duo playing. It was sunny and warm. We had fish and chips, the batter was really thin and crispy, chips perfect. The puddings were really good. It... More

We had 4 courses, and each one was beautiful, along with recommended wines. Garden setting very peaceful, despite being a busy day with most tables outside filled - but there was no intrusion into personal space.

We biked to this winery for lunch. The estate and buildings are gorgeous and the eating area is so lovely, over looking the vineyards. The building itself has historical significance. We ate in the back lawns with wisteria overhead. I asked the waiter for a crisp, light, citrusy wine and he brought me a perfect Sauvignon Blanc that was absolutely... More
