We sampled some of their wines, walked around the grounds of the winery and decided to eat dinner there. But the restaurant didn't open until 6:00pm, so we spent time strolling around Napier waiting for 6:00pm to roll around. Well worth the wait. Excellent wine, excellent service, excellent food. The Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding was scrumptious. The only "negative"... More

This was our second stop on our biking wine tour, and we were keen to buy some wine, sit in the sun and have something to eat, and get a few beers for the boys (who were over the wine already). We had a frosty reception. There was no offer to be taken through to the restaurant, we were begrudgingly... More

When it comes to eating out at NZ vineyards, you couldn't hope for much more than what is on offer at Mission Estate. The setting and views are sublime - on a nice day you couldn't hope to be anywhere else in the world. Sitting out on the lawn is a must! The food is excellent - being a vegan... More

Love this winery. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, especially enjoy the older lady who has been there each time we've visited (sorry don't know your name!). She has a great personality as well as knowing a lot about the Mission wines so we really enjoyed our tasting there. To top it off she took my little girl out... More

This was very interesting place to visit started by monks, who still have an interest in the winery. The building is historic and so are the vin-yards. We were taken into a lovely old room, with original furniture, and given the full history of the winery, and some tastings. Well worth a visit just for the history.

We were told all about the history of the vineyard.....a fascinating story as we were trying many of the wines. They were all really good , in fact so good , we just had to buy some !! We were able to... More

We cycled to this exquisite winery from the centre of Napier - on hired bikes - the route mainly through lovely countryside. The ambience and atmosphere of this wonderful winery took our breath away. We were able to taste several excellent wines and purchased a few bottles. The staff were informative and helpful and fully conversant with the incredible history... More

My wife and I visited this beautiful, old winery during a visit to Napier, Hawke's Bay earlier this year. It is apparently one of the oldest wineries in New Zealand dating back to 1851 when it was established by French Marist missionaries. It transpires that one of the missionaries was the son of a winemaker from the Loire Valley and... More

some friends were visiting from the UK and as they couldn't make it over for the actual event we thought it would be a great idea to take them to where we got married for dinner, i was a little nervous as you never know how places change over time, but I needn't have worried, Erin was still there organising...
