We visited this winery to help improve our knowledge of New Zealand wines and we had a lovely wine lasting experience and purchased a few bottles ( we could have bought more if we had room in our luggage!) Lovely setting and we enjoyed learning about the wine estate and its history.

We really enjoyed our visit to Mission Estate. The history of the building, the wine tastings and the excellent lunch are a wonderful memory. The grounds are a beautiful place to sit outside and enjoy a lunch or supper. It was a little chilly, but their sheltered eating area was quite comfortable. The staff met the expectations of the surroundings... More

This restaurant and winery are in a historic beautiful building on top of the hills overlooking Napier and the valley. It is at about 15 mins drive from Napier and Havelock North and never fails to impress. The restaurant is one we have tried on multiple occasions and it is always excellent - beautifully prepared dishes and excellent quality -... More

Hawke's Bay has many fine wines, but there are none better than the oldest winery in New Zealand. Wine was so good we made reservations for dinner.

You will thoroughly enjoy the winery. From the history of having the priests run the winery with memorabilia flooding its walls, fantastic service and knowledge at the wine tasting and the restaurant is magnificent. It has amazing photographic opportunities from the rear of the historic building looking down the vineyards plus out to sea. Well worth the visit.

the second stop on our tour and Wow what a location, the history and grounds are amazing. Lots of great historical info all over the building. A bit of a museum for the local area. The service here was top notch and really what I expect at a winery. Knowledgeable staff that had personality and loved wine walked us through... More

The oldest winery and it felt grand with the lovely setting and main mansion house. Friendly staff and great tasting selection. We loved it!

We stopped in for a late lunch on the way back from Gisborne to Palmerston North and were provided with a great table out on the patio on a beautiful sunny afternoon. The service and good and of course the wine was terrific.

We went there for lunch and the food was awesome. We also did the wine tasting....but it appears all their wine came from the Malborough region! But hey the pinot gris was still pretty amazing. The location is just stunning and so is the building. Only down thing was that it appeared the wine tour did not occur.
