We went for a walk in July as we do most weeks. But there seems to be more bird life we saw a Spoon bills never seen before so that was exciting. Everytime you walk around there you see something different. I do which the NCC would clean it up all the broken trees laying dead. So many people do... More

Okay, the views aren't that great, especially when you skirt along the industrial area, but it's an interesting walk and younger kids will enjoy it.

There is a lot of new planting that will look great in a few years time. Many meandering paths and lots of bird life. The only downside was the loud traffic noise which will probably diminish as the trees grow. I look forward to revisiting in a few years.

Lovely little easy walk, could do with a bit of a clean up of rubbish in some places, but still a nice area.

The estuary is a nice place to walk for everyone. It is a flat walk, and the information boards with QR codes are a nice touch. Plenty of birds can usually be seen around the estuary as well. It usually takes me between fourty minutes and an hour depending on whether I take a shorter route over the boardwalk near... More

On arriving in Napier we read that a walk involving QR codes was being run around the Estuary. The kids loved the use of technology hunting for clues and learning along the way. They had walked 5km before they knew it. What a brilliant idea and it was free!

We have done this walk many times ..... as a means of keeping fit as a couple and as an interesting family walk with the Aussie grandchildren. There is always so much to see and learn about and you are able to set your own pace. We are sure we have set the record for longest time taken with the... More

A scenic walk on a track and sealed path and wooden path round a popular tidal pond. It's always different depending on the tide and time of day. Different water birds can be seen and when the tide is out, you can see tiny crabs scurrying for cover. The walk is heavily used not only by walkers but also by... More
