Nice little walk

Nice little walk around the estuary and mudflats, good connections to other walks and bike trails. Well sign posted.

Hired 4 Paddleboards and a kayak for an hour. $16 per board, $15 per kayak. Easy to find, Pandora Road Ahuriri, across the road from Hawkes Bay Sea foods. Staff excellent. Do suggest ringing and booking in a time over the summer months.

Weather was perfect, students were practicing their sailing skills as we circled this estuary. Interesting reading about the changes from the earthquake. Next time I hope to see it from the seat of a kayak available to rent.

This walk is highly recommended.. But the scenery wasn't beautiful at all. Maybe an interesting walk if you're into birdwatching?

Dog on lead, comfy shoes and a jacket against the wind and we set off for a leisurely walk along wel lformed paths and board walks. Fish and birdlife added to the interest. Lovely senery, easy walking added up to a great morning!

If you like to take a walk then this is a great place to do it. They say the walk is an hour but it took longer than that but I did not mind. You do not see a lot of bird life because plenty of people are walking or running. It is peaceful and i was glad i walked... More

It has seats along the way and posts with information or activities to do. For example: Picture of birds beaks and what that is designed to eat and prompt to look for those birds and note what you have found. The place changes a lot between low and high tide. There is a small playground on the Hummer street end.... More

Great little walk, close to the city, great place close to home to take the children on a close to nature walk.

Its a sort of a lonely place with an easy walk. Best done when the tidal estuary is half full. Pleasant place to wander.

We love this walk. It was great this morning. The birds were singing and feeding. The bird life is extensive and varied and we understand why dogs need to be on leads. Looking over the Estuary there is lovely scenes reflected in the water.
