Lots of interesting things for young and older. A steady flow of patrons while we were there. $9 for adults and $2.50 for children (who must be accompanied by an adult). Not just electrical.

The best thing about the Faraday Centre is there is no ' do not touch signs.' It's wonderful. We were grown adults and took to the ' have a go' approach with relish. Soooo much fun. The volunteer staff are to be admired and they are very knowledgeable. Take your children, your grandchildren, reminisce and have fun. It's so worth... More

A fun hour or two for all ages. Old & relatively new technology explained with numerous hands-on activities. The staff are all retired volunteers who are more than happy to talk & explain how everything works. Just talking to them was worth the visit to this Aussie! Extremely affordable admission ( only $9) Put it on your things to do... More

Faraday Centre is a fantastic place to visit, my husband and I spent a good two hours taking it all in and enjoying the whole experience. I love the fact that you get to play with the stuff on display. Very great value for money. Will definitely be back.

Not a huge museum, but it houses a good number of old technologies. Best of all everything is hands-on. Kids (small and big!) can learn about electricity, magnetism, and use the old phones and instruments. Highlight for me was ringing the Westminster Chimes. A pretty cheap activity that passes 90 minutes or so. Me and my 4 year old son... More

this is a great little fully working museum that encourages hand on experience. Run by a group of very knowledgeable retiree's this museum is a mix of old technology, everyday household items, engineering and science. So glad we visited while up in napier. Well worth going to for all ages

What a gem! We're so proud of ourselves for discovering this one! Great bunch of retired volunteers, who are all too happy to share their knowledge. Our kids (3 and 5 years) were SO excited that they were allowed to touch and play with everything! We were there for close to 3 hours, and the children were occupied and happy... More

The whole family found fun at this centre. From giving electric shocks to your sister or playing vintage arcade games, our family had an enjoyable morning out. Might have even learnt something too! Affordable too.

This museum is really something. Sadly the people maintaining it are all volunteers who are aging and there doesn't appear to be anyone to continue the great work. We spent about 1-1/2 hours there and I really enjoyed playing with some of the exhibits. Easy parking and not expensive. Show the children what things were like for their grandparents.
