Absolutely fantastic museum for those who like tinkering, young and old, but especially interesting to people of a certain age, who will find that they used quite a few of the museum items. A good physics lesson for kids too. Not large but enough to do to occupy a couple of hours

I really enjoyed my visit. Not only did I see the old technology, I was able to operate many of the exhibits. A staff of enthusiastic volunteers were eager to explain the exhibits. This museum is great fun for kids of all ages!

What an unexpected experience..... From old fashioned steam, diesel and petrol engines to early refrigerators, washing machines, kettles & stoves to the equipment from an old school dental clinic - there is something for the whole family with plenty of opportunity to touch & play with the displays. It is sited in the same building that housed the diesel run engine... More

I expected to only be at Faraday for just over an hour as my 13 and 9 year nieces get bored very quickly without an i-device in their hands. So I was pleasantly surprised that we were all still intrigued when the centre was closing for the day. Our two and half hours there just flew by. The staff, who... More

Great collection of varied items. Friendly and informative volunteer staff who are a mine of information on most items. Plenty of nostalgic memories for the older Kiwi who grew up with a lot of the exhibits. The "hands on " invitation was great fun. My wife enjoyed playing the Harmonium an instrument she had learned to play as a youngster.... More

Brilliant Technology Museum, staffed by friendly volunteers who make the place. We had a rain day here with a 5 and 9 year old it was brilliant well worth the time. It is open Monday Wednesday Friday mornings very affordable.

Despite having lived in Napier my whole life, I have never actually visited this place before so decided to take the time to visit today. I was pleasantly surprised about this place. Greeted by friendly volunteers and was treated to music from a vintage German machine. The volunteers are obviously very enthusiastic and friendly, very passionate about this place. They... More

Went to the Faraday Center and spent a couple of hours there. The volunteers just ooze enthusiasm and passion about this place and it is easy to see why. There are very few static displays. Most things are moving or involve you making them work. Exceptional.
