I visited Moana on a trip to NZ about 5 years ago and was shown round by the owner himself Dan Barker. It was a great experience then and I was really looking forward to another visit. In 5 years it has gone from strength to strength and they have taken on several extra staff. The experience was again superb... More

Go for a drive from Taradale Hawkes Bay, on Puketapau Rd. Hawkes Bay has one of its best winery's here. Talk to Dan, James or Kaylee for everything there is to know about the fabulous wine they are producing. Personal favourite is their Syrah. Pretty setting, pleasant easy drive from Napier or Hastings.

We were looking for something to kill a few hours in Napier and TripAdvisor came to the rescue once again. Being a fan of wine tasting also helped... The staff we very friendly, knowledgeable, and they made such an effort to connect with you and understand your wine preferences. The wine itself was excellent and we walked away with several... Moana Park is a small winery with a big heart. We were incredibly lucky to have had Dan, the owner of the business, to guide us through our tasting. We were told that normally we would have to book in advance otherwise. I would really have enjoyed a small tour of the winery and their wine making process, instead we... More

Had a very enjoyable hour with tastings for me and informative discussion for my organic faming companions. All this amid harvest time chaos for our host, who managed it all with aplomb.

I wish we'd gone here first, and not at the end of our tour when we were tuckered out from biking. We were late (they close at 5), and were thinking we'd just pop in and get a couple of bottles of wine and be on our way. But it wasn't to be, they offered a tasting outside on the... More

This winery encourages visitors to bring a picnic. There is a cellar door with some lovely natural wines and you can sit in the shade and have a sandwich and a chat with the friendly staff. Well worth a stop.

For many years now, Moana Park has offered a great summer Festival. One can sit under the trees, under the provided tents or bake in the guaranteed Hawkes Bay sun! Wine is around $25 a bottle and free live music is provided. Lots seem to like having an opportunity to dance. Many choose to bring their own picnic baskets, and... More
