We did the hour long morning tour and wished we had done the 2 hour afternoon tour. Our enthusiastic and very knowledgable guide gave us an insight into the history of Napier and the characteristics of the Art Deco style of architecture. The tour then lead into a 30 minute film about the earthquake in the Art Deco Trust Centre,... More

Matching our expectations their walking tour of Art Deco buildings and sights was an information packed two hour pleasure. Humorous and insightful anecdotes and observations meant that time passed too quickly. The guide was incredibly motivated and exceptionally well informed. You do not need to be an Art Deco addict to appreciate this tour.

Wow! This was a totally fascinating, funny, informative, wonderful tour with great white-haired lady who completely loves Napier and it's amazing Art Deco architecture. She is one of 75 volunteer tour guides who are trained for at least 4 months before setting out with their own groups. I took the 10 a.m. tour (1 hour) instead of the 2 p.m.... More

If our are into art deco then you must visit. Good range of tourist toot to keep the punters happy. I really liked the front door which enabled me to escape soon after.

the Art Deco Trust shop has moved to larger premises much closer to the centre of town, so has a much wider selection of gorgeous art deco things, I could spend hours in here, (and thousands of dollars if I had them)

Napier is a superb destination for anyone who wants to walk through street after street of vintage commercial art deco architecture. Thanks to the invention of acrylic paint, building owners have turned the city centre into a wonderland of pastel colour highlighting architectural form. On top of all that the summer climate is warm and refreshing. An excellent way to... More

A wonderful town atmosphere. Not very attractive at night. Excellent fish and sea food. The Art Deco Center and souvenir shop are worth a detour.

I was fortunate enough to visit Napier during Art Deco Weekend when the city was full of people dressed in Art Deco style and the roads were full of hundreds of vintage cars of every description. Also went round the Art Deco trail to view all the amazing Art Deco buildings for which Napier is famous. A very memorable visit.

Ed took us on the morning 1 hour Art Deco tour at 10am followed by a movie on the Napier earthquake. It was very interesting and without the tour we would not have appreciated some of the history or the architecture. Recommend this for someone who wants to learn more about Napier

The centre was jam packed as there was a cruise ship in. The volunteer staff were doing a great job of answering the many questions from the passengers. We were not on a ship and were trying to find out whether a tour we booked would be running the next day as the weather was supposed to be turning very... More
