Wonderful hour long walking tour of Napier. Guides are all volunteers for the Trust and do a great job! It's an easy walk and a great way to learn about the city. Inexpensive too!

Thanks for taking the time to post your review of the short film "The Day that Changed the Bay". The film is a great introduction to Napier and tells the story of the 1931 earthquake that destroyed the city, and how the rebuild was completed in the Art Deco style. The film is shown every half hour between 9am and... More

Our guide was an expert in Art Deco and her enthusiasm and knowledge enabled all of us to get a true insight into why and how the present town was created following the earthquake in the 1930's. It is a truly wonderful town and brought to life by members of the Art Deco Trust and its guides, a must if... More

This was a high light we did the evening walk with them, so informative and interesting. We called in through the day and also got to watch a movie about the earth quake that they don't show of a night time, so if you can call in if you are doing late afternoon walk. Tour guide very knowledgeable and great.

Great to hear that you enjoyed the evening walk with us recently. It is one of our most popular guided walks in the summer months, and with the quieter streets and an expert guide it's a great way to hear all about the history of Napier before you head out for dinner! More

This is interesting, funky, and offers a great range of gifts, mementos, clothing, everything one can imagine associated with the art deco era. Staff are very well informed about Napier & environs, especially regarding the 1932 earthquake and how the locals responded. Heaps of interesting information is available. We had a lovely ride on the Tractor Train. We went all around Napier CBD, then to Ahuriri. We stopped at the Rothmans Building then Classic Sheepskins. We had a lovely talk about Rothmans with our Guide and Driver. We then had a tour oof the Sheepskin Factory. Both of these were very interesting. The Driver and Guide is very... More

From the moment we looked down from our balcony stateroom on the Dawn Princess to see an quaintly dressed man in an old morris car just sitting patiently on the dock, we knew that Napier was going to be as quirkily, Art Deco as we had hoped. As it turned out, and we didn't find out until visiting the Art... More

Excellent art deco gifts at reasonable prices. A really good selection. Lots of information on the former town prior to the quake. Staff dress in clothes of the period. Busy shop but the staff were really helpful.
