The se gardens are really well laid out, and cared for - a real credit to Hamilton. While you're there, don't forget to look at the amazing carving in the conference centre.

absolutely beautiful and so so big. couldnt see the whole garden as on the day we went we didnt have enough time to see it all
Stunning gardens which the whole family enjoyed. Every turn was another theme and another surprise. As the clever orientations often looked out over the river it made even the smaller gardens look huge. Allow yourself more time then you think you will need as there is so much to see.
Quite amazing to find such interestingly designed gardens in a regional centre. The intricate pattern of linking gardens confused us a bit and we felt at one stage as though we were in a maze with no way out. Fortunately we could ask other, local, visitors who pointed us in the right direction. More exit signs would be helpful!
Amazing gardens. The extent and different themes are outstanding. Very helpful information office staff. We walked the main gardens and then did something very different, the Cemetery Walk. Very Different. The extent of the grounds means a half day visit is a minimum.

highlight: I love how they continued to develop different sections of the garden, makes every visit a pleasant surprise. lowlight: some garden (the English one especially) felt as if there was lack of love involved, weed everywhere and patchy lawn... not what I remembered of the nicely manicured English garden from a year ago. Overall pleasant stroll for family.
It's a pity if you haven't been to Hamilton Gardens while you are in New Zealand!
My recommendation is visiting it in summer (the best time) while all the flowers are blooming in a way that is indescribably beautiful.
Hamilton Gardens has tremendous views and probably one of the best places in New Zealand to take pictures with your loved...
