With a breathtaking view overlooking Mission Bay and Auckland CBD, you should not miss this place. The place is breezy; it's very refreshing.

We arrived in Auckland and left the airport in the coach to get to the Memorial Park before the sun went down. After a nice ride we arrived to a brisk but not too cold place of serenity. The architecture was attractive with the correct amount of gravitas without being too heavy or ornate. The obelisk was a beautiful centerpiece.... More

Bastion Point looks out over the Waitamata harbour and is a great place to view the activities. It is a great place to stop if you are taking a drive of the waterfront and is close to other attractions if you are on the tourist trail. Bastion point has had an interesting history since European settlement and was the site... More

The Bastion Point lookout sits on top of a hill and you drive past Kelly Tarlton's on the way there. It has a nice garden on the bottom of a few stairs and sitting at the end is the memorial statue. Surrounding the statue is a well cared for lawn and on the left hand (facing towards the ocean) is... More

A delightful spot from which there are stunning views of the activities in the harbour and Rangitoto island. The gardens are carefully tended and great for gentle strolling around, or you can just sit and take in the scenery.

Good place to get out of the car, or to run to, or to bike to, whether a visitor or a long-term resident. There were guns here, and for the intrepid there remains a hidden underground generator room and magazine, if you know where to look...

We were concerned about the weather for our trip to Auckland as mid-May is approaching winter there. One of our first stops was the beautiful Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Garden and our concern ended there. This beautiful garden was in bloom, green and lush and meticulously cared for. The garden is a wonderful site on it's own but also provides... More

I never knew this place existed, all these years I lived in Auckland! It's STUNNING! Easy to get to, especially from Mission Bay, an incredible view, perfect in the sunshine and the flowers are just beautiful. Great place to fly kites too.

An easy access Auckland waterfront family friendly park. Good views of the inner Waitemata Harbour including Rangitoto Island, the volcano that looks like a volcano. There are military gun emplacements from the war days. The monument, garden area, and pool area are nice, but tend to be very busy. This is a sunny day visit. Your time spent at this... More

You can get a nice view of Auckland harbour from the hill side. There is a flower garden and small pool in front of the monument (good photograph spot for reflection of the monument if noone else is around). The place is somewhat packed when I was there with load of tourist bus coming in every 5 mins or so.... More
