We had looked at this on line before our trip. A big tip is to buy this ticket before you do anything else, as there are discounts on most of the attractions the bus visits with the purchase of this ticket. We had a 2 day pass at a cost of $75 New Zealand each. It would be difficult to... More

We bought a two day pass for the bus. The first day we used the inner red route which was fine. We hopped off at Bastion Point and hopped on again half an hour later. We visited Auckland War Memorial Museum and took the bus back into the city. The problems arose on the second day, on which we planned... More

Pre-booked tour in the UK for 21 Dec 2015. Used both routes but started late am. Bus driver/guide very informative on both of the routes. Visited the Eden gardens but some of the paths through the gardens very steep. Tip start early am and finish 6 pm then you will be able to hop off and stay at the various... More

We did both routes and they were both great. It is worth doing if you have a limited amount of time. The buses were slightly later than the schedule said so we were waiting around for a while. There is only a driver on board so there is no one to enforce the 'no talking during the tour' rule. Unfortunately... More

Only there for 3 full days, we took a 2 day pass.. It took us to all the places we wanted to visit from Bastion point, to the zoo. Great option for us. Easy to use and on time.. There is always a second bus just behind the first one (people are in hurry to catch the first one). We... More

Best way to see the biggest attractions of Auckland such as the museum, the zoo, Mt Eden... It was a must for us as we were 5 travelling together. And we were able to see all the different sites we wanted to visit. Definitely handy when you are in Auckland for a short stay.

We had only one full day in Aukland and booked the Hop on Hop Off Explorer. There are two routes for the price. We only had time to ride the Red Circle that stops at the Ferry Bldg., Bastion Point, Aquarium, Parnell Rose Gardens, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Auckland Museum, Parnell Village, Civic Theater, Sky City (Sky Tower), and Viaduct Harbor... This provides an excellent way of seeing the sights. The buses are regular, every hour and half hour, and the Day Pass - 45NZD which is not unreasonable - enables you to go on both the red and the blue circuits. We caught it at Auckland Museum and were able to change circles at that Stop. Although you can get... More

We have had great experiences with the hop on hop off tours in various countries so we were keen to try here. I may as well of thrown $100 in the bin it was the biggest waste of money we ended up doing trip of the red route not bothering to get off anywhere there was nothing overly interesting and... More
