We have been Auckland residents for 42 years, yet had never been to see the Howick Historical Village. (Shame on us!) However - we have now corrected this oversight. A special day out at the Howick Historical Village - great for something different to do on the weekend. Good for all ages - although I think the novelty wears thin for teenagers!

Went here on a third Sunday and it was the Village's Monthly Live Day. I just loved the atmosphere of seeing the volunteers dressed up in Victorian clothing an acting the part.

a great chance to see the past. Great on their open days where people are walking around in costume and the kids can play old fashioned games without batteries, wifi or power cords.

An authentic experience of life as it must have been in the 19th century. Not commercialised, just a natural village setting.

Worth a trip and an ice cream at the end. There is also a park - the Lloyd Elsmore Domain close by which is great for a picknick.
