This area so close to the city but absolutely gorgeous. The visitor centre was interesting but the flora is incredible. Great photo opportunity where the scene is framed for you.

Vevo Cafe in Titirangi Village worth visiting. The Village has a great cafe scene and there are many choices.

You'll need good hiking boots, plenty of water and a good camera! The view is amazing! You'll need several hours to wander around, so start early when the temperature is cooler. It's very picturesque and you can easily spend a good few hours here.

we took an eco- tour through the rain forest where we saw some very interesting sites, The Kauri trees are among the oldest in the world and quite impressive. The visitor center gives an expansive view of the area - It is a very peaceful place wit beautiful views.

Fantastic views and scenery, I think it would have been even better if not for the weather. We would have liked to spend more time there.

Range forest and fresh water lake looks great and peaceful. From top, the forest looks like green bed. A must visit place.

recommend doing this walk (approx. 20 minutes one way, from one car park to the next) after sunset, to experience the magic of glow worms! it's also beautiful by the light of the full moon, however, the gates close after dark (summer and winter times vary) so glow worm enthusiasts would need to park outside the gates and walk a... The title is so as there is much to do here and much to see. A multitude of beaches and a multitude of hiking trails (some along the coast, some with waterfalls). It's also a nice place to take a drive and sight-see as well. Perhaps one should visit the NZ Regional Parks website for more information and perhaps guidance... More

If you like the outdoors, bush tracks, wildlife and secluded west coast beaches then a visit to the Waitakere Ranges is a must. There are many different places to start from and a visit to the visitors centre is well worth while.

The Waitakere Ranges are a pretty big park so there are a huge number of individual walks, tracks, and destinations. There are also a number of Dam's in the Ranges that are a good destination for any day out. There is a short walk to this Dam down a tar sealed road that is fabulous for kids, families or anyone...
