We walked up One Tree Hill several times just for the exercise. It was great to see the sheep nearby, and the views from the top. The tree that had been atop One Tree is no longer there and there are discussions of what tree to plant in its stead. At the top is a monument.

The One Tree Hill is short of one Tree, long ago gone, but it has a nice monument and an even nicer view in a city plenty of amazing views. Take your camera.

Some thing for every one. Great picnic spots, shady trees, and open spaces. Good walks, up to the top of the volcano with great biews, or around the bottom

http://annkschin.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/sunday-stills-one-tree-hill-auckland.html great outdoor space for everyone. Walk up to the monument and view the whole of Auckland from this old volcano. See the sheep, cows, feral chicken, beautiful spring flowers and cherry trees in bloom in Spring.

You can drive or walk up depending on the time you have available and how much exercise you want. The views on a clear day are awesome. The park is very peaceful too.

Worth a trip, great views and a great piece of history. One of those place both locals and tourists flock to. Read up about the history before you go.

Worth the trip - panoramic views are forever. Take your binoculars. You can take a meander through the park on the lower side and walk up to One Tree Hill if you feel energetic. The crater is huge by anyone's standards. Sheep graze in and through this area. Quite windy some days so take your coat.

Worth a visit. Views over the city, free parking and no charge to enter the hill. Park up and walk about, have a picnic. Great photo opportunity.

I guess Captain Cook or someone else brought over the California Redwood, however, local people love their native tree better! This park is beautifully maintained, nice and quiet, great for a morning or afternoon stroll!

Cornwall park is a great park in Auckland and One Tree Hill is a must while there. You can drive to the top but really it's best to walk. From the top you get an amazing 360 view of the city!
