We walk up the hill thinking of getting a cup of coffee to chill out. The cafe was under renovation, we stepped into the next door which is an information center, two ladies there were decorating the christmas tree. One of the lady was very kind, offering us with two glasses of water. It was very touching and her kindness... More

We visited this place on a bright sunny evening around sunset time. Was fantastic to see the city views. I would recommend carrying a Jumper/Sweater as it gets windy and chill. If you have Binoculars Take it along. This is a fantactic drive during summer as its lined with Photukawa trees (NZ Christmas Tree). A good camera is a Must... More

Struck a windy day at the top of the Hill but you get a mervellous 360* view of Auckland's surrounds including the Manaku harbour. Monument is large and you can drive to the top. Recommend a visit when in Auckland.

Maungakiekie is well worth the visit with it's 360 views of Auckland City and it's lovely, green park surrounds. It is of archaeological interest, an old pa site, and geographical interest being one of many small extinct volcanoes that can be seen around the city. At the moment, you can drive up to the top but this may be discontinued... More

Was a great view of the city. Not accessible by bus which is a downfall. There's even sheep here. A lot of people run up to the top for exercise.

This is the most beautiful view point in Auckland a part from the top of Rangitoto Island. I would recommend walking around the bottom of the hill, and if you are brave enough, walk up the road to the summit.

This is a really nice place but needs a Tree. It's unbelievable that it's still not replaced due to politics and racial tensions.. It's been 20 years now since it was damaged... Surely we are able to agree on something? Alternatively change the damn name...

This is my local park, and we visit many times, even more over the summer. It is in two parts really, Cornwall Park and One Tree Hill Domain, with the One Tree Hill mound in the middle. You will find families enjoying a day in the park, with picnic lunches or barbeques; joggers running round the hill and some brave... More
