We go to there after 15 hours flight. And we can see the whole Auckland city from there. And the story about this place is wonderful.

If you've been to Mt. Eden, then there's no reason why you shouldn't proceed to One Tree Hill, which is nearby. Again, you can drive all the way to the top, although parking may be a bit difficult during weekends, unless you're going there on weekdays. You can also have a 360-degree view of the city from here, and again,... More

If my memory serves me correctly... Some elitist Maori chief gave a tree to an elitist Pakeha mayor, who decided to plant it on a hill. They made a monument next to it in the most mundane tradition of dumb obelisks, as boring as any other obelisk you've seen. It's also some rich dude's grave. Then a Maori radical came... More

I've never thought to be able to see sheep, lots of them in a place close to the city. This place is located approximately 30 minutes from Auckland CBD by bus. From the bus stop, one may need to climb, not too steep but it was a pretty long walk to the top.

From the top of the mountain you can see 360 degree view of the expansive city that is Auckland. Turn around and you see where the early inhabitants lived and had their gardens and villages. Down on the flat around the mountain is an amazing park to walk through with oak groves and friendly cattle meandering.
